I had this one for a year before I got pulled over.
Illegal to have apostrophes and exclamation marks on Oregon plates:

I don't know about other states, but Oregon let's you keep your old plates, so you can keep the old plate, hang it on the wall or do whatever with it.

Sounds like you got creative there ;) Now that you mention it, I can see the apostrophe is not embossed, and that the area exclamation point is embossed for a "1" with color missing from parts of it. Velisma07-09-2011, 11:52 AMI'm an old Honda guy and came from cars that looked best (IMO) with a rim/tire ratio of 205/50's & 15inch rims. When I first got these rims I was worried that they looked too big and ghetto like most of the MR2's I see (think bicycle like rim/tire ratio... lol!). I like something that looks like a time attack car... squatty, beefy and means business just like an MR2 is suppose to. I had a few rubbing issues but was taken care of by a slight inner fender roll. It's funny you mention my lawn because, if you notice in the picture, my neighbors either have yellow grass or mostly dirt like mine. We haven't had any rain in my area this since this past fall so it really sucks. :undecided

Sounds wonderful!! Where do you live? We literally had 3 months (90 days) of straight rain here. It was an absolute nightmare. Seriously, it rained every day for like 3 months straight. Nope....they really should!.... but I did on Saturday. It's like the salt flats out there. I couldn't believe it, I was nervous that security would come out and bitch me out, or that a cop would drive by and see me whipping around etc and give me some kind of ticket...but nope. The worst thing I did was go fast, I wasn't drifting or anything.:lol:

It's on a back road that doesn't get much traffic. I did see an empty security truck parked next to the building, but I never saw anyone. I took a small video clip. I didn't want to stick around long and it was HOT!! I just sat the camera on the ground and did a quick back and forth. Nothing special. I plan to have someone come with me when it cools off and shoot a little vid of the car. Plus this particular video was just shot on a regular old camera so the sound is garbage. You can hear a little growl in there though.

The other MR2.com'er here in Lubbock is Masruque (aka Mushu). He has a recently swapped 3rd gen. w/ a TD05. Very nice little car indeed. I don't think he'll be back in town in time for the BBQ though... :/ I'll get him to come if he does though. usually it's in dec. buy, with the holiday. it's kind of hard for some people. so, we are having it right before thanksgiving. date have not been pick yet until most of the guys here have decided on one. :D

My suggestion would be to get some flat black hi-temp spray paint and black out the whole exposed piece

But for the record guys the marble look is one of the easiest paint jobs to do, dont ever let a painter charge you a ridiculous amount to do it. All it is, is laying your basecoat (black most of the time) and letting that dry about 15 minutes then spraying some House of Kolor Marbilizer... its a super thin type "paint". You spray one very very quick coat then you immediately rag the car (like you would distress paint in your house using say a trashbag or paper or whatever), then you clear it... done.

Ive done the marbled look in the interior of my show truck. Very easy and gives a great custom look.

Now that I'm paying attention to that car, my friend painted that car and did the TRD wide-body on it. He owns a body shop up north of Seattle which specializes in custom work. I can never remember how to get there :) You basically just go down to the riverfront by the arch. The street below the arch goes south straight to them. Yeah, there are a few good spots here. Some parks, some boat launches/boat landings, warehouses, train-yards, etc but there isn't really that one spot where you see many cars have their picture taken in front of. It sounds like the flood wall in St. Louis is one there, and I know there are a few up in Bellevue, WA as well. I guess that could be a good thing. It allows for more creativity, if you can find good spots :) I'm actually always on the look out for good spots in the Portland area when I'm driving around. I've found a few killer spots in Vancouver, but they won't work since it involves blocking traffic to get the picture, hahahaha. If you think of any more suggestions, shoot me a PM and let me know. nooo, the front ones I know about, but I have never seen clear sides, you know how people install the solid side moldings? yours are clear. I have yet to see that.

Just took them out and replaced them. They look alright, for the price. Are they really that bad on this color?? I'm not dead set on it, I just thought the Ferrari body kit is tight. I'll never own a Ferrari...so it's why I liked it.

But then again I haven't browsed enough of the Body Kits to decide one way or the other. I do plan on keeping this color. If I did change it, it would be a Pearlescent. I seen a sick black and gold chameleon type paint job this weekend that was straight up bad a$$. I'd consider something like that maybe but I do like this stock paint color.

But I'm not sold on anything. I'm not to the body kit stage yet and I won't decide til I ready to order one this winter. I need to decide on Paint, wheels and Tires, and what I'm going to do with the car as a whole. Either swapping to a 2.0 Turbo or putting a light turbo build on my spare 5s-fe. I don't want a 400+ HP problem again. If I could achieve 225 hp under boost I'd be happy which is about what I heard a 2.2 can get using a stock set up from a 3s-gte. My 550 HP Talon was a money pit with little reward. I'd get 3 months of driving between breaks...a lot of track time tho so right now I just want a more powerful MR2. Plus I already have spare motor. I might go the Forged Pistons, Cam, Valve work, route and build on the spare i have and make a sick 5s-fte. I've read with good forged pistons and valve work and a cam job I could achieve the 400+ hp range if I build it right and have a just as reliable motor.

Wouldn't be my first build.

Yeah...I don't think I'll be getting any wheels that spin. lol My car, eventually, will be mean and fast and I'll get something that fits that. Especially when I quit DD this one and really start building on it this winter.

I seen some, what I thought anyway, was some pretty cool MR2s with the Ferrari kit, the one that made it look like the F355 or whatever..I forget now. But I don't know what I'm going to do...something different. I like being different.

For now tho, while I work on finding a 3s-gte motor to build on, I'm going to put factory level boost on my spare 5sfe and drop it in. Before I swap in a mean and narly 3s-gte I'm going to build it as such. I'll spend a 6 months at least building the motor cause if I'm going to go that route I'll build it all out. Larger Cam, Port and Polish, Exhaust, High Flow Headers, larger Turbo, clutch...etc. Nothing will be stock when I find and finish building it...but by that time I won't be needing to daily the MR2.

I always wanted a Supra...but the MR2 will do for now. I'll eventually get my a Twin Turbo Supra when I get a little older so for now my MR2 will have to work....

I always say "Now I'm not going to get rediculous on this car" but like my Talon which put out 500 HP I never stick to that...

It will be cool having 2 5sfe motors and trans to play around with for now. So when I do find my 3s-gte motor to start building on I'll still have my MR2 I can drive and still work on cosmetically. Yes I plan on doing all that to a 3s-gte motor. The cam, port and polish, etc.. But for now, since I just picked up a Turbo set up off a rod through the block 3s-gte (An idiot MK2 owner) I'm going to ghetto build the extra 5s-fe I have currently sitting in my Front Room on an engine stand (lol) so I can change the headgasket and put a stronger than stock clutch on BEFORE i turn it into a 5s-fte ghettofied....It's warmer in my front room than the garage and both motor and trans have been cleaned deeply. When I get it together it will be the cleanest 5s-fe you've seen besides brand new. I couldn't believe how clean it came.

Right now I have the oil pan off, the head off putting it all back together this week and then piecing together and making a 5s-fte to put in.

BUT!, You are right, you end up with basically a stock 3s-gte ghettofied, but if I'm going to swap over to a 3s I'm gonna do it right and I'll spend months building the motor alone before I ever consider dropping it in. Unless I find a stock Turbo model MKII before hand for cheap that runs then the Wife will get the one I have now.

I spent 100$ on everything i need (ALMOST, I still need a few things you have to get from other sources) to turbocharge the 5s for the time being. (This guy was a total dip) I just want a little more power while I line out how in depth I'm going to go with the 3s that I'm still looking for.

It will be this time NEXT year before I get to the point of actually having my 3s-gte together, built, and ready to drop into the car. But I just repainted my interior and am getting some nice trd racing seats as well as some mods for the exterior. But the if you were to see a frontal shot the bumper is pretty f'd up. Bought the car from an auto pawn for a real good deal. I take it you got a real good deal buying it from a Car Pawn place?? That stuff is illegal in Indiana...lol...if you go anywhere else in this country tho you see a Title Pawn place on every corner..especially down in Alabama and Georgia.

heh, you can not haz it! I will have this thing until all four wheels fall off it at once, then when they do, I'll fix it, then drive it until the doors fall off, then fix it again, then drive it until.....you get the picture....

Nope, thats a sk2 replica antenna I put on, I like having radio reception.

As for interior, its mostly stock, with the addition of DC2 recaros, and a wheel.
