Sure, having the tire to protect the rim is great, but as with most things, you normal have to choose between form and function.

As this car is already a 2 seater which I only drive in the summer months, the choice to leave function in the rear view was made quite a long time ago

Therefore I stretch the tires to enable wider rims and lower ride height.

i think having stretched tires will help in these ways..

It makes u want to run camber which prolongs your tire life versus running no camber. Reason being that you can flip your tires and wear down the other side. This only applies if you zero out your toe and run 3-4 degrees of camber imo.. I get 12k + out of cambered tires versus 5-8k on no camber.

Lots of grip. With camber, you can hold gradual corners with much more speed and grip. Totally changes the feel of the car to a corner holding monster.. (makes me want to take hard corners whenever possible :P)

Possibly stiffer side wall, which in return means more stiffer ride (i don't really notice it) and more quicker steering + more steering feel.

Looks cooler.. Depends what you like

Can lower car more

Brings the rim closer to the body if you want = (hellaflush)

It also prevents/eliminates rubbing :)



Cons i can think of
Less protection for wheel. (especially if u live in town with big huge pot holes.. Ones where if ur wheel dips in, the floor will touch your rim.



I am running -3.8 F, -4.2 R camber and i am loving it.

The evil things claimed two rims on my last car by denting one and cracking another. Since she's my daily driver I chose the conservative path and run a lil less flush with a bit more meat. If i ever go down the hella stretched/flushed roadi will look into a set of forged rims. Hi quality forged rims are super strong and resist bending and cracking much better than other rims. I got it from ebay from Jap Parts, it's the Motoria/EMS/XS Power one I think. I love how GReddy skirts look, and the PP rears really match up well with them. The lips too, 93+ is in it to win it for me. Just the right amount of 'lip' and the Aero and Holy ones are a bit more aggressive. I just don't want to put those on my current car, since it's my first MR2 and would like to keep it as stock as possible, for collectors' sake. If I score a second one though, I'll definitely rock an Aeroware lip, GReddy sides and Phoenix rears. Plus other goodies like a quick release wheel, EMS style exhaust, roof spoiler, all those. :D

I've thought about the Broder Aero Roof before as well. Toyed with the idea of a quick release wheel, but I think I might stick with getting a 98+ wheel for now. I still flip on that one.

Oh, I actually got some pictures with the lights down for you several weeks ago. I closed them at Cars and Coffee and snapped off a few pics, hahaha. I also got some nice shots from a photoshoot we did a few weeks ago. I pulled out the rotary and did a full detail on her right before the shoot, so they car looks mint. Maybe I'll post a thread and link it so I don't clutter up with one :)

I have spent many countless hours deciding and looking for body kits and finally came to my current setup. I thought the big 18" wheels overpowered the car so i added the kit to the wheel and car to proportion. My friend used a D7000 nikon camera with lots of little different lenses and filters. All i know is photography is his passion and i guess he does a great job at it. No idea lol, I eyeball everything to do with my alignment.

Rear has 1 camber bolt maxed out, camber gained from this varies from car to car, from 3.x to 4.x deg

Front has megan camber plates maxed out, and the slot on the spindle bracket maxed on right side and middle on left side because the right side always pokes more on the front on my car.

Open the trunk. There are bolts on the underside that hold the wing on. For the side pieces, there are 3 (pretty sure, anyway) nuts that hold them on. IIRC, they are all 10 mm. You may have to have new holes drilled for the new wing, can't remember if they use the same holes or not. Regardless, you'll have to have the side piece holes and middle holes on the trunk lid filled and painted. 87MR24RX05-19-2012, 06:04 AM. IIRC, they are all 10 mm.

Ah the new FR-S. All my Scion club friends are drooling over these. We have a test-drive event coming up on the 23rd, I plan to try one out. Might be my next car, possibly next summer. Going out to autocross it next weekend since the MR2 is in no condition yet, so really excited to see what it does. Coming out of a WRX limited, it is pretty plain on bells and whistles and lacks power, but it's a great balance of usable power and handling for auto-cross or spirited mountain driving.

Yes i can give a short brief :)

The EZ-LIP is a American company that makes Lips and side skirts that will fit to nearly all cars. The rubber they use is flexible and forms after (under) the cars stock bumper/side skirts and give the car a lower and aggressive look. The product are attached with a very strong and durable 3M tape, and wont fall off under the regular ca wash, driving during the winter etc.

Why did you leave the strip in the front bumper on either side if you cut out the middle?

any pics of it head on to get a better idea of what it looks like?

I always kinda wanted to cut the "teeth" out but was pretty sure the bumper would just droop...

good to know, when I was seriously considering removing them I still had a floppy 93 lip, now that I have a sturdy holylip, Id probably actually be able to get away with removing them without much reinforcement at all... who knows if I ever will though. 93hardtop08-16-2012, 09:48 PMI have this in a thread below.
