About a year ago I talked to about 5 local people and tryed to set it up at the tower shops on friday night but i was the only one there. Sadly enough, I've only seen your 2 in pictures. I'm always in whisper lakes too, and that's literally right next to skylake south, lol. But I'll definitely keep my eye out for your 2. I'd argue the point about mkI using my turbo 328 but my dad kinda started it with no oil wrecked the motor then parked it outside and broke the steering backing his pickup into it then tore the fender driving off when the towbar hooked it. My ideas for a date are the weekeds of Aug 20, Aug 27, Sept 4-5, Sept 13.

The weekend of the 20th and 27th we can do a beach day and track day. Daytona seems to have more to offer for these weekends but Im open to anywhere so long as there cars to woop at racing, cold beer and Mr2s .

The weekends of Sept 4-5th or 13th I will be going to a road racing event. Not sure which weekend because I only get to choose one but I do know it will be south (West palm or Jupiter for moroso). The idea here is alot of people have said they want to try it or ride in my car and trust me there is nothing like it. So mainly I could give rides to anyone who wants so long as Im not actually racing. The time on course would be 20-30min per session. You guys can also enter your cars if you would like to drive or I can drive it on course for you. Hopefully a couple of the guys like Jake will join in on offering rides. It would be a hell of a weekend of going over 120mph and apexing into 180 degree turn to go flying tracking out for 30min, 4 times a day . I can post pricing info if anyone is interested in this option. Be for warned though if you want to take your car on track you have to pass tech and have a helmet. The event will be held by NASA.

Its taken me awhile to find time to figure out when Im available and make a thread but with this many dates I hope we can all agree on a date when we can all meet up. Im always down for a dyno day aswell and can talk to some local shops here in O-town if desired.

I hope to be driving her regularly in a couple months.

It *looks* like the components on the engine were aiming for the 400 HP range. I'll know more once I pull the engine apart and fully identify things. I agree. There is just always talk of what we all say were going to hit and its another story once we all see the numbers on paper. Ive just never rode in a 400whp duece and would love to.

Ill never make mine that fast as it will loose to much low end and thats were the money shot is :D. My mr2 likes to be pushed everywhere and it barely broke 300. Its been toned down since then but reliabilty is about the same.

Sounds like you have alot of cars. If you have or get a duece running in the 400s I would love a ride.

Meh. I've grown to see autocross/circuit racing to be boring. Yes the tape is holding my door on:lol: Seriously that car was THE best investment ever. Never has a $300 car survived so much beating. And if you find circuit boring you aren't pushing hard enough, I have to be sh***ing my pants before I back off the loud pedal. Minties moment was when I overviewed a rally course before setting out. Decided the big jump wasn't that big and on the way up to it told myself "don't be a soft cock hit it at full throttle" so I did and it lept a few metres off the ground, landed sideways hard enough to bend the radiator, break 2 engine mounts and throw clods of dirt through the drivers window as it went sideways through some bushes which I crashed out of and flicked back the other way round the cones and set my fastest time of the day in the first run. Was 2 seconds off a 4wd 300hp ford focus in my POS and I had to back up at one point cause my handbrake failed and I missed a tight bend:lol:




In other news apparantly the local supercheap auto store uses me as a marker. They asked me to go out to the carpark, identify an engine, check against an ordered in part and when I said it wouldn't fit only then did the manager accept the part the guy was trying to return. I don't even work there about all that was said was "Chase says it doesn't fit so it must be wrong". Nice car and I agree with this 100%. We dont have that loose of rules here but we have some great tracks for some wheel to wheel racing. Problem is everyone thinks autocross is road racing. And no one around here races wheel to wheel.

Me and my friend ricky give each other hell on the track we are always touching and trying to fold wing mirrors mid corner with our own mirror, I liked one guys comment on video of us racing of "If you put a rag between them it would polish both cars". Racing other cars changes the game, you can't run best lines into corners and have to figure out if you should defend the inside line or give it hell and try break away from them.


I dragged that poor car to every event I could from road racing to dirt track and even inter club meets on a small island in near our main centre with a gravel rally and track the next day. The chassis is cracking and the car has been bottomed out so many times the floor has worn though to the rollcage mountings leaving them in mid air. Fixed the floor but it's at the point where I'm worried about the subframes pulling out of the body.........which they have done twice.

If you look long enough you might even be able to pick up a 94-95 turbo which are arguably the best ones that ever made it over here. Haha thanks for the reply. Anyway, here is a link to a particular car I found. It looks nice, but I definately had some questions about it - first, :omg: isnt 25lbs a lot?! He said he has done the necessary fuel system upgrades and the car has been "safely tuned" but at least in the Buick world running that much boost would cause "knock," or detonation in the engine. I understand that imports are built to rev higher and hold higher amounts of compression, but 25lbs. just seems awfully high with 93 octane and no alcohol/meth injection...:confused:

He does not have a complete list of mods. I'm sure if I ask I could get one.

How much boost did the cars originally run? As I said I do not even own an MR2 and have no knowledge of them whatsoever, so any input is greatly appreciated! 9lbs. 11lbs with a bcc and max 16psi on oem fuel.

If you have the money go for the 3sgte. Your only going to want to upgrade the 5sfe sooner or later. It costs more sometimes to swap motors then to just buy a 3sgte (Unlees you get a cheap shell). Also suspension is slightly different from na to turbo.

I'll definitely get another one eventually. I'm not sure if you know, but I was on this forum for 2 years with no MR2, than I had an MK2 for 3 months, and I went all the way from June 09 till May this year with no MR2 :lol:. I'm definitely not leaving the forums.
