Slip the clutch fast off the line and shift like a maniac and keep the gas down the whole time  zman33610-19-2005, 08:18 PM14.1 with TKO exhaust, and MBC set to 14 psi. Also with my heavy-ass 18's with not so good tires. I could break into the 13's easily with better wheels and tires and more practice. you dont take your foot off the gas when u shift? isnt that called power shifting or something? bufferdan10-19-2005, 10:08 PMyou dont take your foot off the gas when u shift? isnt that called power shifting or something?

thats what i do...my 93 LSD tranny actually shifts better that way. TheAmazingDave10-19-2005, 10:18 PMfast enough @ ~13 PSI ;)
I can't take it to the track because of my battery relocation. I refuse to desecrate my Deuce by installing an external killswitch on the rear end.

I've G-teched low 14's, lowest being 14.3. I have a hard time keeping my shitty rubbers planted once the supercharger kicks on so I'm sure the G-Tech times aren't that accurate. The SC boosts this 1.6l so well that I sometimes get both tires spinning on the stock open diff. Tyler10-19-2005, 10:27 PMfast enough @ ~13 PSI ;)

i think u msg'd me on cardomain 1 time and said u were making something to keep up with the mk2 turbo guys im guessing its goin good then TheAmazingDave10-19-2005, 10:35 PMGetting there. The SC has been a good learning experience. But now I'm really getting ready to compete with the Mk2T guys with the 4AGTE I'm starting to build. Oh, mods, right. A 3.0 V6 with an aluminum flywheel, headers, low-restriction exhaust (loud), CAI, no cats.

0-60 in under 6.0 (G-tech tested). mr20nza10-27-2005, 01:06 AMRan a 14.19 at 97mph with a 2.2 60' hahaha, slipped like a mother! Ran a 14.05 with a 2.0 60' but missed 3rd gear... I suck at drag racing, so I'm never out there.

good ol USDM motor. 17psi, water injection, straight 3" pipe, KO 2.5" downpipe, K&N filter, polyurethane inserts, MedPilot anti-torque bar, brass cable bushings... that's it in terms of what probably helped in the 1/4 mile time. Im new to the mr2 world and was wondering how the car handles with wide open throttle shifting or as some call it power shifting. stealth12-19-2005, 03:27 AM14.2

Stock Gen II at 15 psi, with an apexi intake. NA--> Turbo Swap.
On 17 inch rims.

Good for times bad for tranny. I started powershifting my 93 tranny for a while and uh... lets just say i wont be doing it again. I dont have any major issues but i can definitely notice the degrading that it has caused for normal shifting.

My advice is do it a few times at the track and don't get used to it(addicted). This is something you dont want to have to get used to. It sure makes a difference though having constant boost.

With speedshifting 1-4th I ran a 13.0 @109mph. Without speed shifting and shifting normal I ran a 13.4@108. This is because I couldnt get into gear like I used to. Dam speed shifting.

I now have more power and will have to shift slower and easier so I wont miss any shifts. Node12-19-2005, 11:05 AMIn my black stock turbo

Etc... stock CT-26 WOOT sinESter01-27-2006, 03:27 PMwhats everyone getting in a N/A model??? is there a huge difference? ZAPPE01-27-2006, 05:44 PMmaybe i am confused but i always called shifting withe the gas pedel to the floor a "no lift shift" which is bad for the tranny but a "powershift" is where you match your rpm's and shift with no clutch also very bad for trannys unless you have a spare tranny or can rebuild them, DO NOT DO THIS! I had to rebuild 2 trannys becasue of this but i had a back up and another car so drive around till i fixed the other one. robertsmb02-02-2006, 07:37 PMHmmm. Good question. If you tested 0-60 on G-Tech, why didnt you test 1/4 mile?? V6'er02-02-2006, 09:51 PMCause I couldn't find a clear 1/4 mile of highway at the time, and I've never gotten around to trying it again.

I live in South Charlotte, and the roads are getting BUSY around here lately. I'm going to have to find a safe stretch somewhere further from town. mr2turbo1202-02-2006, 11:57 PMlast time i went to the track my best was a 13.7@105mph. boosted202-03-2006, 08:41 PM91 turbo
