Gaz's low rise lights - Toyota MR2 Drivers (http://mr2.zhutiblog.com/com/mr2-forum/27-conversions/40369-gazs-low-rise-lights)

Just search lowrise on mr2oc or here in the lighting forum and you will come up with quiet a few results which are helpful to you. Even though you have a mki, I'm sure the dyi would be similar.

Assuming you got the lights cheap from Ebay and if you don't like the low rise look then I would suggest just putting these aside and buying some e-codes. :)

I actually like the 6" by 4" lights on a mr2, looks much better imo. MM3Huiz08-17-2013, 03:01 PM:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:Maybe he can help.

Thanks bud, I'll look into it.

By the way headlights were 25.00, normally 130.00. MM3Huiz08-17-2013, 03:51 PMMight also just fab it myself. MM3Huiz08-17-2013, 06:56 PMHow do i hold it up/ in there, i need the brackets. goopi08-17-2013, 07:33 PMHow do i hold it up/ in there, i need the brackets.
Hold what up in there, the headlamps? yoshimitsuspeed08-17-2013, 08:40 PMI can make anything you want. It's just a matter of time and money.
Not sure what you are talking about with the cost. You can get Silverstars on Amazon for $23.

On top of that according to your own post you own a Viper yet are willing to pinch pennies on your headlights? And then you want to buy special brackets to make them fit? MM3Huiz08-18-2013, 01:19 PMi bought the headlight assembly, cuz i had sealed beams, so i bought one that i could install my h4 hids into. their 4500k not purple or nothing ghetto MM3Huiz08-18-2013, 03:19 PMHold what up in there, the headlamps?

yeah, the big glass piece, not the bulbs. MM3Huiz08-18-2013, 03:23 PMI can make anything you want. It's just a matter of time and money.

I got the headlight assembly, and i got the bulbs installed, i took out the sealed beam assembly just to find the one i bought is an inch to small to fit in the bracket, the assembly would literally just fall out if i put it together.
Hopefully that clears up what i mean. I am interested if you can get something to make it fit. yoshimitsuspeed08-18-2013, 03:36 PMI do custom fabrication and mechanical design so I doubt this would be too hard. Can you get some pics of the new lights?
I would probably need you to send me the housings so I could build around them. goopi08-18-2013, 04:40 PMI do custom fabrication and mechanical design so I doubt this would be too hard. Can you get some pics of the new lights?

Awesome, looks like you've got it covered.

Not to derail this thread, but perhaps others are interested in these sized beams as well. toyotaspeed9008-24-2013, 11:46 AMI'm not sure why it's eBay's fault if they ordered the wrong light or even if they had the wrong car listed..... H6054 is such a generic light that it doesn't matter what car it's for.... H6054 has been around for forever and the dimensions of them don't change....

so word to the wise... if you want to upgrade your headlights.... never search by "mr2" for first/2nd gens (unless you're looking for something custom like flushmounts) and search by H6054.... there will be way more options at lower costs.

examples:
Non sealed beam, with bulbs, $21 w/ free shipping:
7x6 H4 H6054 85 05 Chevrolet Astro Square Diamond Crystal Projector Headlights | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/7X6-H4-H6054-85-05-CHEVROLET-ASTRO-SQUARE-DIAMOND-CRYSTAL-PROJECTOR-HEADLIGHTS-/181002810415?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a249bb42f&vxp=mtr)

projectors with LED's for $42:
Universal 7"X6" H6014 H6052 H6054 White LED Black Housing Projector Headlight | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-7-x6-H6014-H6052-H6054-White-LED-Black-Housing-Projector-Headlight-/370766322880?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5653651cc0&vxp=mtr)

non projectors with LED's for $35:

black housing with projectors $26:

and the options go on & on & on.... MM3Huiz08-27-2013, 03:27 PM... I know it's not eBay's fault, it's the guy's fault who posted it. toyotaspeed9008-30-2013, 08:34 AM...sort of....

whether you're buying something online or locally.... it's a good idea to research even a small bit to determine what you're getting is correct and a good deal. Just a couple minutes of research on your part would have given you the knowledge that the correct bulb/housing is a H6054 and you would have bypassed that auction as you would have known it was incorrect.

now if they had listed it as an H6054 housing then yes, it's the guy who posted its' fault for giving the incorrect part number. You specified the physical size in the original post not indicating the part number so I would guess that isn't the case. entrax08-30-2013, 12:09 PMI'm not sure why it's eBay's fault if they ordered the wrong light or even if they had the wrong car listed..... please don't refer to those as projectors. none of those headlights have projectors in them. what they've done is basically cut a half crescent orb of glass and place it in front of the bulb and market it to you as "projectors"...unless you want to have a beam that looks like this:
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i279/nome012/SDC10087.jpg MC_fixer09-06-2013, 03:02 PMlisten to entrax! he knows his work with projectors! =]
plus, you can always make your own set! i just installed and did the low rise mod on my mk1 Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
