tamirtoad06-14-2012, 11:39 PMSooooooooooo, long story short, I need a 4age to do a heart transplant with. Preferably, it would need minimum or no engine work, and be in the charlotte area.


So here's the long story, cause everyone loves long stories.
Background: I'm working in asheville this summer and I decided to go to wilmington this past weekend.

Monica the MR2 made the trip TO wilmington with no problem. I had an awesome weekend at the beach. I decided to start the trip from Wilmington at about 6pm last night. Maybe I was overconfident. Maybe I was in a hurry. Either way, apparently driving for an hour or so at 4k rpm isn't a good idea, because i made it about halfway to raleigh when I noticed oil pressure dropping ever so slightly.. I pulled into the next exit (about half a mile), but apparently it was too late. Monica sounded like a really messed up diesel by the time I clutched in, and choked to death right after. Thankfully, I have AAA premier. One 200 mile tow later, after several deep conversations with Jerry the AAA guy, at 2am, Monica was perched at my dad's house in charlotte. after borrowing sandy the saab, i finally made it to asheville at 5am, slept to 6:45, and rolled into work at 7:10 like a boss. i then spent 10 miserable hours trying to stay awake, and for some reason now i'm wired.

anyways, my plan is to source an engine, go to charlotte, swap them, finally be reunited with monica, and then work on the messed up engine and use it as a backup. i'm guessing bottom end bearing failure, but any other opinions are welcome. i didnt get any chances to troubleshoot as it was dark.

so if anybody has a 4age lying around and wants to sell it, or any advice to lend me, i'd really really really appreciate it.
