Dillonc11-24-2011, 04:55 PMI want to create a thread showing my progress on my 91 Turbo. I bought the car for only $1000 back in July of this year. The car ran fine just needed shifter cables, some thread repair and a tune up. I hope to bring the car to Import Alliance In April so a lot of work needs to be done! Hope you guys enjoy the pics and some of my work!

Thank you! Depending on which tune/fuel setup i decide to go, i would like to hit 350ish, then build the head and aim for 400+. While those are the down side to having it, i do keep one bolt in the top so it cant be stolen without destroying the bumper and so no jokes can be played lol. But its very functional! I would rather pop it off then let a tow truck driver destroy it. Also most car trailers have pretty steep ramps. And last so i can pull it onto alignment racks... also helps to get out of the driveway :) vendetta02-26-2012, 12:19 AMI can see the benefit of it for those reasons. But it rolls and i like it!

I think its going to be around for a long time!

Now that it runs and has a pretty good bottom and top end i would like to upgrade the fuel system to match and get a proper tune. I have always had plans to hit 400hp and now i'm actually pretty close to seeing it. This car is so far from done and i cant wait to see where the future takes it! I actually had this one cnc'd at a local shop. its pretty thick so i think it will be ok. Yeah, painting black is NOT hard at all. The problem why people say black is hard (and well just about all dark colors) is because of the prep work before hand. Dark colors show imperfections more then lighter colors so any dents or imperfections that are missed during prep work will stick out like a swore thumb. This is because dark colors absorb light more so the imperfections show where as light colors like White for example, have a very high level of reflectiveness so the imperfections are hidden.

All solid / none metalic colors are pretty much the same in how easy or hard they are to paint, its just the shade (how dark or light the color is) and how well the prep work prior to paint that will determine outcome. Once you start to move into metalic's, painting gets a bit harder cause of how the metalic particals settle in the paint.
