View Full Version : My Gen 3 w/ TwinScroll Gt3076 with Fuel Tech EMS

Its Turbo Time07-03-2011, 11:04 PMHey guys,
I'm headed to the dyno tomorrow morning so I figured I'd show you all whats new with my build.

Here are some specs:
Gen3 3sgte stock internals, ARP head studs
Custom True Twin-scroll Top-mount Garrett Gt3076
4" intake (anti-surge housing)
Trunk Mount IC
Fuel Injector Clinic top feed fuel rail with 900cc injectors (Walbro 255
pump -6 lines and aeromotive regulator)
3" to dual 2.5" exhaust w/ highflow cat.
Mitsubishi coil packs
60-2 trigger wheel
FuelTech FT300 EMS

I plan on both drag racing and road racing this car so my main goal when going into this build was to have a good all around power curve with good throttle response. I also wanted to clean the engine bay up to make it easier to work in, and for faster repairs at the track. I was looking for about 400HP on stock internals, a fast spooling turbo with a lot of mid-range, without sacrificing top end power. I also wanted the turbo setup to be capable of bigger numbers later on if I decide to build the motor.

This is why I decided to design and build my own true twin-scroll kit for the Garrett Gt3076. This kit uses the stock cast manifold and 2 wastegates to keep both ports of the exhaust housing separate so their pressures do not equalize, which would render the twin-scroll option useless. Using this adapter, I basically lengthened the exhaust manifold which in theory would yield more mid to top range power. It also puts the turbo in a much more accessible location, swapping the turbo out now takes only a matter of minutes (plus it looks pretty kick ass).

I have had the turbo kit running on my car for about 2 years now. During that time I have been researching and trying to decide which EMS system I wanted to run, nothing I found really met my needs or my budget, and I was getting a little frustrated. But over the winter my good friend introduced me to a Brazilian EMS company called FuelTech. They are just starting to export there products here to America, and their top technician and owner both came out to my friends shop to do a product demo. I was lucky enough to have them chose my car to do an install/tune to use for a new product seminar. My car is now running their FT300 unit, which is a stand-alone and hand controller all in one. Every parameter of the computer can be controlled using the 4 buttons on the unit, or you can can chose to use their Can-adapter to connect to a laptop to tune with their very user friendly software. It also has a built in MAP sensor and boost controller. To get more info check out their

Mark (blurvision) and I dropped off my car with them late Sunday night and by Monday afternoon the car was street tuned and I was able to drive it home. I am super impressed with how the Fuel Tech works, the car feels much better then it did on the stock ECU, it is running and driving absolutely perfect. It pulls very strong and smooth in boost, they got the cold start dialed in and the idle is great. Tomorrow (Saturday) I will be driving the car out to PA where they will be doing a new product seminar and Q+A for local tuners (any tuners or dealers on here that would like to come out please PM me and I will send u the info). I am planning on running 20+ PSI, and will be doing a pump gas as well as a race gas tune. I really cant wait to see how my true twin-scroll kit works, I expect a significantly faster spool with good midrange and top end power, but that's all on paper we'll see what happens on the dyno!

Special thanks to Dave from S-Max intercoolers, Anderson and Horatio from FuelTech, and Jens from Fuel Injector Clinic!!

The car made 374Whp, I will post the graphs once the shop emails them to me, the pics I took of the screen came out too blurry.

I'm very happy with the tune, the drivability is great and the car puts down the power fast. mattdouken07-03-2011, 11:10 PMSimply astounding, Keep it up. I look forward to more out of this thread. marazaii07-03-2011, 11:11 PMnice! unreal07-04-2011, 12:26 AMbd2: GT-Spec07-05-2011, 09:18 AMAwesome build! How is the fitment of the carbon dash? muffinman07-05-2011, 09:24 AMVery nice! :hump: z Ice Dragon z07-05-2011, 09:56 AMVery nice! :hump:

+1 MisterBlue07-05-2011, 01:00 PMsimply beautiful! Its Turbo Time07-06-2011, 12:24 AMThanks guys! I got the carbon dash for free (so I could test fit it for Chaser), and I wouldn't pay a dime more for it, its a piece of crap, took an insane amount of work.. cutting, sanding, trimming to get it fitted, I feel bad for anyone who spends their money on it. Thank you for your honesty. I would have been surprised if the fitment was good. Do you also have the carbon door panels or the transmission cover installed? If so, how about those? Thanks :) Its Turbo Time07-06-2011, 03:08 PMThe door panels look great in the car, but they over cut all the holes for the plastic parts (door handles and coin cups) I have a few pairs in my inventory. hmong33707-06-2011, 04:55 PMhey! you should start selling those adapters. it's the best i've seen yet. Its Turbo Time07-06-2011, 08:05 PMI have a jig made so i just may! hmong33707-06-2011, 10:45 PMDo it do it! Depending on price, I'll buy one for down the road in my modding stages. Think you can make it with just one wastegate flange? It's a seriously good design. I love how it uses the factory turbo stay bracket for extra bracing. Very clever! Xuracing07-11-2011, 04:30 PMThis is OT but what is up with your rear quarter window? did you mould an intake aroudn it? preacherman198107-11-2011, 05:47 PMBeautiful ride!! Now we need a vid of you having some fun in it! CJMR2T07-11-2011, 06:49 PMI have a jig made so i just may!

You should.... I was thinking about building pretty much the same basic adapter but didn't think it would fit so I tossed the idea out the window. I guess I was wrong since you were able to make it work... if you were building them, I'd most likely buy one right now cause I'm in need of something within the next week or so... Its Turbo Time07-13-2011, 11:34 PMthanks guys, ya its possible to make with just one wg flange, non twinscroll.
Xuracing- ya those are scoops molded into the body, they feed air to the intercooler.
CJMR2T- I wont be able to make anything in the next week or 2 but PM me and we can talk Its Turbo Time07-14-2011, 11:57 AMHere we go, finally got my dyno plots!
Got to 200 tq at 4k rpm, I know the car has more in it, we we're having problems with the spark blowing out once we started raising the boost over 15 psi, and I think the culprit was the Mitsubishi Coils I'm running. We were able to get 2 clean runs by putting new plugs in and bringing the gap way down but that was just a bandaid.

stock cams, right? WrenchswingeR07-25-2011, 09:41 PM365 at the wheels? freakin nice Spinfin07-27-2011, 09:37 PMLooks good. Very awesome power, I can't imagine how nice that must feel on a highway pull.

Please start producing another batch of the Kei Office style wings. Its Turbo Time01-12-2012, 08:57 PMyup stock cams, I realized that one of my coil packs had a crack in the insulation, I am running COP now and the car is making MUCH more power! cant wait to get it back to the dyno.

I wish I could do another run but Chaser stole my original and they have the mold so nothing is ever gonna happen, i don,t wanna make a copy of the copy since there would be too much shrinkage. Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
