View Full Version : Vapor canister

Oteck09-06-2005, 08:17 PMA little interesting note for those who wants to be odbII compliant. They change the layout through the year so here how it goes.

98-99 (according to rnoll)
-2 lines goes to the tank
- doesn't use the closed canister valve
- vapor pressure sensor mounted on the canister (rnoll?)

00-03
-3 lines goes to the tank
- uses the closed canister valve
- vapor pressure sensor mounted on the canister

04-up
- 3 lines goes to the tank
- uses the closed canister valve
- vapor pressure sensor is mounted on the fuel pump assembly!!!!

got lucky on this one, when i ordered my sienna pump assembly. it was there for the picking. I originaly wanted it for the fpr but this is just a rather interesting find Oteck09-06-2005, 08:57 PMW00t just after posting this the guy in brown delivered this to me

the canister looks very small, it may be possible to mout it in the storage compartment behind the driver seat. Atleast this way it's closer to the tank Node09-06-2005, 09:01 PMAll that just to make the yellow light go out :headshake Thanks for figureing that stuff out. If I get tired of my christmass tree dash I may attempt to make the OBDII happy  Oteck09-06-2005, 09:08 PMi know where i can get you a taco evap :D Node09-06-2005, 09:48 PMNo need, I can just unhook the lightbulb LOL If the motor starts running bad I can scan the ECU for codes :D Im going standalone in about a month when I upgrade to the TDO6 turbos, thanks anyway though hehe. DaveMush09-06-2005, 10:34 PMThat canister looks damn familiar. The pressure switching valve looks a lil different tho.

As for the Camry ignition switch... Did you get the other end of the plugs w/ pigtails? What about the immobilizer bits? (I think I can i.d. the transponder key coil, as well as the transponder signal amplifier, but I'm not sure.)

I have the pins mapped out for the ignition switch from both the Mr2 and the solara if you need them.

Edit****
Almost forgot. I can give you the rundown on where the valves all need to go and what connections to make for the EVAP system. Its different than I had said before if you use all the stock valves. I wouldnt recomment putting it in the driver's compartment. It does vent fumes to atmosphere. When I had it mounted in my trunk, the trunk would sometimes smell of gas. Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
