bear3104     $ 0.00 Are there custom side vents? I know there are crazy expensive air scoops of all kinds. What I'm wondering is if there is a cheap replacement for the stock pass side air vent that does a better job. Again I do not want any crazy mods and do not want to speed hundreds of dollars. Something like this at a price like this The Fiero Store

Tooljst8     $ 0.00 Stock form you have two choices, early model 85/86 and late model 87+. They both fit in the same hole, I recall them having slightly different brackets inside or something, I can't remember.

The early model side intake is flush to the body; where as the late sticks out a bit. The latter was probably an improvement in function or they would have left it alone. I think it looks better. If you have an early model you could consider this as an upgrade.

Nothing is available in aftermarket to my knowledge. Making your own / making something else work for this particular item seems the trend. Pics of DIY vents are around, I'm sure someone will post up a few pics of their custom works. Zarek     $ 0.00 the 87+ scoops are funtional as intakes. the 85/86 have a cold air intake that went over the batt and along the firewall. Later models used the scoop to draw air into the engine Reply With Quote 01-30-2012, 02:58 AM #4 Zarek View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message View Blog Entries Whats a shoe? BR0NXB0MBERS87     $ 0.00 Carbon Fiber Hoods - 20% Off Carbon Creations and SEIBON Carbon Fiber Hoods they have a couple different scoops for the MK1. carbon fiber and a carbon kevlar version. Pricey but just depends on your budget/interest. I myself will be picking up a carbon fiber one. Depends on the color of your car I guess, the carbon fiber on red looks sexy Reply With Quote 01-30-2012, 03:27 AM #8 bear3104 View Profile View Forum Posts View Blog Entries Banned Join Date Nov 2011 Posts 97 Thanks  0 Thanks  1 Thanked in1 Post Total Contributions For
bear3104     $ 0.00 From the pics it looks identical to the 87+ which is what I have. Like the OP says I'm looking for a side scoop like the Fiero one that sticks out a bit more to pick up more air, and for a good price.

Grrr why do Fieros get such a huge store with so many parts. Last edited by bear3104; 01-30-2012 at 03:42 AM. Tempast     $ 0.00 Because they have a huge fanbase lol. A lot of people hate them, but personally I'd love to have an '88 GT. I'd do a custom interior though because stock looks like crap.
