blkcadi     $ 0.00 Factory MR2 Alarm system My MR2 has a factory alarm that the switches are located just under the radio and air controls. In my owners manual there is absolutly no info about it or how it works. It has a low and high setting as well as on and off switch. Does anyone know anything about this and how it works? Mister2.2     $ 0.00 Why do you say it is factory? I don't know of a factory system that has any switches under the radio and air controls. blkcadi     $ 0.00 I saw one on Ebay for sale today also, but I can't figure how to paste the link. If you did a search for MR2 parts you will see it, sorry. It is indeed a factory system Reply With Quote 06-18-2006, 02:51 PM #4 Mister2.2 View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message View Blog Entries Cheese it! Mister2.2     $ 0.00 You're going to have to post a picture or link to ebay... I've never seen a factory alarm system in an MR2 with any switches inside... Ncturnal     $ 10.00 It's not factory, regardless of what the eBay ad states. What is the item number? CpuZapper     $ 0.00 The high/low switch is vibration sensitivity, and on/off is just what it sounds like - Alarm system on or off. It works with the exterior door locks. If you have it set to "on" and you close the doors, and lock it from the outside with the key, it should activate the alarm. When you unlock from the outside it should disarm. There are no remotes for the system, and it provides no keyless entry, or other spiffy functions like ignition disable - its just in case someone hits your car hard, or pops your locks without the keys... it makes a lot of noise... sometimes. I was trying really hard to find one for my mk1. You should just put the auction number in here. Its up in the right hand corner of the auction.

EDIT:
I found it: 8076634352

That's not the OEM alarm from the MR2 MK1. It may be a toyota alarm, and may have come in a mk1, but the mk1's switches were mounted in the left little sqaure snap out area below the radio, just like on yours. The right snap out thing was where one of the other spiffy OEM items went - the interior temp sensor for the auto climate control was there - the other was behind the drivers head. There was also a sensor in front of the radiator, and a sunlight sensor on the cluster cover, and a temp sensor in the AC duct. Last edited by CpuZapper; 06-18-2006 at 04:00 PM. Dylan Hooker
