Mister2.2     $ 0.00 Don't know anything about the blower but it has to create pressure as well as move air. How are you going to power it? SpeedballTrix     $ 0.00 People make electric superchargers.
They are terrible.

Honestly, I would only do this if I already had the parts laying around and could do it for free as a project (which sounds like your situation).

There's a good chance that you will end up flowing less air at speed that the engine did all by itself... but as long as you can flow more air than the engine does by itself at speed, I suppose you wil end u getting some gain.
It won't be much, though.

I had (and still have) a very good idea for an electric blower that I simply lack the funds and technical expertise to actually construct, but beleive me when I tell you that it is a complicated and very expensive design.

If you are doing this as a project and you have the parts, then go for it.
Just be careful not to push too much air into the intake stream when you are stopped or at very low speeds because you can lean the motor out and kill it. Oteck     $ 15.00 thats just wasted energy which could be spent moving the car through a hybrid CVT like the prius/highlander. SpeedballTrix     $ 0.00 "through a hybrid CVT"

Weasy2k     $ 0.00 in theory it will work...anytime airflow is over air needed positive pressure will develop...

BUT mechanicaly no...unless this motor can keep air on its output side and not backflow through the fan then this thing is uselss Reply With Quote 04-27-2006, 12:56 PM #7 oh_schnapps View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message View Blog Entries .::OH .::schnapps Join Date Mar 2006 Location fremont, ca Posts 32 Thanks  0 Thanks  0 Thanked in0 Posts Total Contributions For
oh_schnapps     $ 0.00 electric blowers are not very good and i think you'll find that the boat bilge blower sucks your battrey dry in 1 days use. if you are realy going to do this think about getting a alternator that has a high charge rating. nice thing is, toyota put a battery gauge in, so if you do your set up and the needle is going past the middle to the left you might want to get a higher charging alternator.
