Oteck     $ 15.00 Water line issues for 1-3mz I finaly had time to put in the stainless steel radiator hoses. i noticed the mr2 has a smaller diameter than the v6 but luckly the kit comes w/ adapters. Though it was a tight fit for the smaller hoses i manage to put it in. i used up all 48" of it so it came close to an exact fit. If i screwed up my measurements id have to buy another one ouch here some underbelly pics

it looks like it's hitting the alternator but theres a 2" clearance. it took a massive S curve to get it that way though it look straight on that angle

some of my recovered files....

i had to cut a hole on the firewall shield w/ a holesaw to clear the driver side Last edited by Oteck; 09-24-2007 at 03:30 PM. Oteck     $ 15.00 stainless steel radiator hose from ebay... i can bend it anyway i want so this is the easiest way to solve the problem. i also bent it so you have room to pull out the dip stick. the longest i've ever found was 48" and it's exact lenght for the swap assumine you manage to cut it at the proper lenth... no second chances.
now im thinking of getting some for the heater line Reply With Quote 04-17-2006, 01:30 AM #4 Weasy2k View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message View Blog Entries What is an MR2? Join Date Mar 2005 Location Vancouver, BC Posts 8,873 Thanks  33 Thanks  84 Thanked in69 Posts Total Contributions For

Oteck     $ 15.00 the headers doesn't go past the dip stick, as you can see the hose is on the other side and i left some over head for the headers aswell. though it looks like it will be cooking the hose Reply With Quote 04-17-2006, 07:09 PM #9 Gocasen View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message View Blog Entries Cage Fighter Join Date Apr 2006 Posts 146 Thanks  0 Thanks  0 Thanked in0 Posts Total Contributions For

Toysrme     $ 0.00 I just thought of something while yall were talking about this.
The cross-over pipe on the MZ blocks. It's a hose. Leave that hose OEM quality, or BETTER. The last time somebody put a good quality high-temp silicon hose on there it split.

Obviously... VZ's have a metal pipe.

With a weak *** 10mm stud on one side of the flange that is just sooooo easy to snap in half... AIM/Yahoo/ICQ - Toysrme257th

I haven't hooked my up yet. My engine is in the car. The passenger side looks tight with the alternator there. I would also like to see what's done for the drivers side.
Thanks. Reply With Quote 09-24-2007, 10:06 AM #20 Gimpster View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message View Blog Entries Visit Homepage Cage Fighter Join Date Mar 2007 Location Des Moines, IA Posts 680 Thanks  5 Thanks  49 Thanked in45 Posts Blog Entries2 Total Contributions For
Gimpster     $ 10.00 Passenger side is actually a lot less tight than you might think. I don't have an AC compressor there right now though, so that makes some room. I plan on re-adding AC to my car, so we'll see if i have to make any changes. You defn have to make a long jaunt out to get around the alternator though, I end up in the place where the intercooler would be.. as you'll see in the pic.

The drivers side I removed the curvy pipe, or whatever you wanna call it. I just go straight from the T-stat housing -> drivers coolant pipe. I'm using an S54 though, so I most likely have more room there around the shift cables than people running V6/Turbo transmissions.

It's kinda rainy today, but here are some older pictures to give you an idea. When I change the oil in the next couple days, I'll shoot some from under. In the first pic, you can see how the lower pipe makes a tight 90 down there.

I liked that style of hose so much that I converted my V8 S10 to it as well (was using the rubber crinkle style on it before). I think the clamps that come with them are junk though, later I converted from the worm style to T-bolts. I didn't use the decorative cover things either, didn't like how they looked.

Like I said, I'll take some better pictures for you ASAP. 1991 Toyota MR2 Reply With Quote The Following User Says Thank You to Gimpster For This Useful Post: nathand (09-24-2007) Page 1 of 2 12 Last Jump to page: « Previous Thread | Next Thread » Posting Permissions You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts   BB code is On Smilies are On [IMG] code is On [VIDEO] code is On HTML code is Off -- BlueSteel -- vB4 Default Style -- Default Mobile Style Contact Us Toyota MR2 Message Board Archive Top All times are GMT -5.
