Ignarius     $ 0.00 First Gen Seats Hey guys, my car is about to be totalled by the insurance company, and I'm wondering if I should put my factory seats in or my aftermarket seats or no seats. What do you think these seats would run for?

Do I leave em in the car, or strip them out and sell them after the insurance company low-balls me to death? lsgheero     $ 5.00 Are those an actual pic of your factory seats?? if so strip those bastards and the door panels too you can definitely sell them and make some easy cash. the leather interior in that shape is very hard to come by. Ignarius     $ 0.00 These are a pic of my factory seats, but seeing as nobody can even give me an estimate on what they'd be worth, I'm afraid if I take em out, the adjuster will have a basis for quoting me an EVEN lower offer and I won't be able to get rid of them. lsgheero     $ 5.00 assuming the seats are in as good of a condition as the pic implies you could probably get at least 150-200 for them maybe more just depends on the buyer. mk1 leather seats that look basically brand new are worth the money to most. I know I would buy them lol if I could spare the cash. Street Racing is pointless....Real Men Track Race! jjohns1508     $ 0.00 I'm in the middle spending about $500 to have my cloth MK1 seats redone in leather. If I needed black and red (not black and grey), I would easily offer $350 for the seats, if they are in as good a condition as they look.

How bad is the damage? We had our MR2 totaled by a hail storm in 92. They paid us just under the totaled amount and let us keep teh car. They wouldn't pay for any more damage, but we still have the car. Ignarius     $ 0.00 They're doing a damage estimate some time in the next week (I'm learning that insurance companies have little concept of time). If there's no damage to the unibody, there's a chance they;ll fix it, but we'll see. I don't know how the laws are elsewhere, but I know here, I can get the car back and take parts out any time before I sign a check. I can also keep it, but I dont have the time or skill to fix really extensive damage... We'll see how it pans out, but it's not looking good. The tow truck driver actually looked at the car and said, "Wow. I can't believe they wanna total this car..." D@mn!

Thanks for the heads up on that stuff, guys.

Jjohns, good luck with the new apholstery!
