Misterduece     $ 0.00 MK3 Timing Belt or Chain? I've owned 4 MK1's and now I'm looking at some higher mileage MK3's and was wondering if the Spyders still had the timing belt or did Toyota switch to a chain? What is the recommended interval to replace the belt on these? Also what other issues should I be aware of on a 120,000 mile 2002 MK3? Are clutches still weak? supunna_picta     $ 0.00 The Spyder has a 1zzfe which has a timing belt that should be changed at 90k miles or 108 months according to Toyota Maintenance.

[edit] I was looking at the Maintenance book that came with my car, it's generically applying the maintenance schedule to all toyota passenger cars and says 'Timing Belt'. I don't know if it has a belt or chain, too lazy to go get the BGB...

Clutches are decent but always depends on the driver... Last edited by supunna_picta; 01-03-2010 at 01:55 AM.
