Sahow     $ 0.00 5k budget So I have a 1991 non turbo mr2 waiting for me to swap it's engine. It's bone stock and was wondering what's the best engine I can get for 5k for the engine itself not including labor. lsgheero     $ 5.00 Is this engine/trans or just engine, Are you wanting something that bolts right it or do you mind work to get mounts in place, etc?

As for direct bolt in if you are wanting power I would say Gen 3 3s-gte and take the left over funds for engine buildup. Street Racing is pointless....Real Men Track Race! STLMR2na     $ 0.00 yea for sure if your budget is 5k, buy a 3sgte and tran for like 2k and you'll have plenty left over to mod it over 300hp easy Originally Posted by hey_guys This is gonna sound horrible but there's seriously a black guy at my work that looks EXACTLY like Curious George. lsgheero     $ 5.00 If is wanting to drag race the 3sgte is likely a better option for him, its faster. Street Racing is pointless....Real Men Track Race! More videos on my account.

Those 1/8th times are about a 12.00 flat in the 1/4 and that is a BONE STOCK 3rd gen with the S252 running 17psi. It easily has a high 11 in it with some good tires.

I now have an AEM stand alone, about to get some meth and possible cams and i will see what it will do with that. Then i will try the S256 and see what it does! Just have to fix my tranny first :-( 1993 MR2 Turbo T-Top, Rest of build in process, 700whp+ here i come.....at some point

Not bad for a virtually stock car. 1993 MR2 Turbo T-Top, Rest of build in process, 700whp+ here i come.....at some point

if its a drag then i have to agree a gen 3 3s is gonna be alot easier to produce numbers I have to highly disagree. A turbo v6 requires quite a bit of work to get running and a lot of custom work. It is not really a drop in solution. 99% of the MR2 community would not be able to do a v6 swap, let alone a turbo v6, simply due to how complicated it would be and how much extra custom fabrication it would require.

Also, if you've ever driven a properly setup gen2 or gen3 with a nice fast spooling turbo, you'd know that they are a blast to drive around town as a daily driver. And on top of that they get great gas milage when you stay off the boost because they are still a 4 cylinder.
