Node     $ 0.00 TRDNY'S car almost finished! Well TRDNY's car sould be nearly finished by mid next week. Mechanically anyway. Once everything is done I still have to tare the entire install down to clean everything up. So, I still have a lot of work to do before its ready for the road but I just wanted to share. I dont know if TRDNY feels like shareing the specs of the build so I will leave that up to him.

Enjoy.

Node     $ 0.00 Yes it is a 5VZ-FE and I suppose I can tell you we are using a brand new modified supra turbocharger. The one in the pics is just for moch up. Yea, there is plenty of room on the turbo side. I wanted it that way so that all the heat was away from everything. The downpipe from the turbo runs around the motor and actually comes out in the stock location that the 3S and 5S use. So technically he could use a 3" or bigger aftermarket turbo muffler for the MR2. That portion of the install has come out VERY well. Im supprised how easy it was to run that pipe. Ill post some pics of that in a few days. FOR SALE:__ SKYLINE RB25DE-T S13 300dyno WHP!

trdny     $ 0.00 Node that looks incredible. tons of room. Looks like the 5vz fits better than the 1mz. Funny thing is I've never seen this car (besides pictures). Car went straight from coast to coast. lol. I'll be in for a big suprise when I finally pick her up. Node has been doing great work on my car.

91t: I just was in the norcal section but I'm all the way on the other coast. I bought the car from cali.

Specs:
some clyinders
5 gears
a turbo
some fuel
an intercooler
wheels/tires
metal bars

Node     $ 0.00 Yea, Mitch and I were both commenting that there is actually more room with the VZ series vs the MZs. The reason for this is the MZ VVTI heads actually stick out over the transmission. The VZ heads are flush with the tranny. So thats 1.5" difference. I have to admit I kinda like the way the MZ makes the engine bay look more filled up. Keep in mind though, I still have to bolt the downpipe on, add turbo coolent lines and mount the fuse box. So, the engine bay will look a bit more crowded than it does now.

Now that we know you will be able to use MR2 Turbo aftermarket mufflers, any thoughts on what you may like? FOR SALE:__ SKYLINE RB25DE-T S13 300dyno WHP!

trdny     $ 0.00 OK that was funny to me.

Specs for now:
stock 5vz
supra ct-26/6? wheel
medium tmic intercooler
fidenza lwfw
cosco lsd
act 4 puck (holds 450ftlbs) - we'll see
solora tranny
prs4 ems
cosco strut bars
wolfkatz rail/injectors - waitting

The most important part:
Nodes custom work, blood, sweat and I'm sure some tears

Like i said Node probably knows better than I do so if I missed anything major he can add that.

The goal is 4##whp for stage 1. Reply With Quote 03-03-2006, 10:51 AM #17 trdny View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message View Blog Entries No Skills Join Date Dec 2005 Posts 115 Thanks  2 Thanks  3 Thanked in2 Posts Total Contributions For
trdny     $ 0.00 I've always loved the ko (7" cans). Will the aftermarket exhaust systems clear the intercooler openning? If so then I'll have to start looking and see if we should change the plans. trdny     $ 0.00 oh Node brad wants to take you up on the offer to lowboost. That would be interesting to see.

oh I sent you an email too. Reply With Quote 03-03-2006, 10:58 AM #19 Node View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message View Blog Entries Visit Homepage Mild Steel = Big Gains Join Date Feb 2005 Location WNC Posts 1,277 Thanks  0 Thanks  15 Thanked in15 Posts Total Contributions For
Node     $ 0.00 Dont forget:

Node's custom 3M-90D motor mounts

Also:
255 GPH fuel pump (installed last week)
Lowering springs ~3" drop
Adjustable struts
Stock NA hood with custom spacers (sleeper look)

With a good tuner you should be able to see 500 on the stock bottom end. From what we have seen in the past 6 months 600 is not out of the question either. Although that turbo maxes out around 490ish You WILL need to replace the head gaskets when you approach the 400 mark. This engine does have the updated toyota gaskets but I seriously doubt they will take that power level at stock head bolt torque for long.

We can always bore it out to 4.0L and put some custom pistons in for stage 2. FOR SALE:__ SKYLINE RB25DE-T S13 300dyno WHP!

trdny     $ 0.00 ssshhhh. don't tell anymore about the other stages I was thinking you could always borrow my car for Brady if yours isn't done. By time he's ready I should be at stage 2 or 3. lol

I hope you plan on selling the down pipe also. since it places everything in the stock location I'm sure people will pick that up.
