steve According to Haynes/memory (didn't feel like dragging out the BGB):

Engine oil capacity, including filter 3.5 quarts
Cooling system capacity, 13.5 quarts
Timing should be 10 degrees BTDC with the engine fully warmed and the T and E1 connections bridged.

3 filter types...not sure what you want here. I know the oil filters are different between NA and SC (you didn't say which he has)... WIWhite87     $ 0.00 What is the official oil filter number from Toyota for the NA & SC. It seems they're always changing them and my dealer jsut gives me a YZZA2 or even an A1 depending on what they've got. I looked up some numbers and got 90915-10004 or even 08922-02002. Also, the catalog I'm looking at shows the filter being the same for 88-89 models regardless of the NA vs SC designation.

I have to put in an order and would appreciate an official stand on this before I do so later today or tomorrow morning. bmerton     $ 0.00 Dunno. I always buy Purolator from the local parts store. I don't see the need for the Toyota filter with the anti-drainback since the oil filter sits vertically under the motor, and not on top like a 3SGTE. As for the Mk1, I would buy Toyota only when it was convenient. I don't go through any special trouble to get 'em.

The Purolator 14476 is the correct filter for the Mk1 NA and Spyder. The 14477 (same mounting surface, just a bit taller) is the SC filter. WIWhite87     $ 0.00 OK, so the yzza1 is the longer filter compared to he yzza2. I've gone to trying to use it on all the MR2s, including the mk2 turbo. I'll see if I can get the part number that I see (08922-02002), otherwise, I'll just stick with the yzza1 or whatever. They really don't seem to matter all that much I guess in the end as long as I'm sticking with Toyota filters when I have some handy. I've never had a problem running the short or long ones with the Mobil 1 in the car anyhow. With 4 MR2s, a Camry, and leftovers from the Corolla, they all take the same filter, so we usually have a stack to choose from.
