F6 fun08-08-2013, 11:49 PMIn case you guys didn't know, Josh is leaving Florida. So, let's send him off with one last meet.

The plan is to meet at Hooters at 11am. It's centrally located and very easy to get to. You really can't miss it if you tried.

3400 US Highway 98 N
Lakeland

Get lunch. Take some group photos in the back lot.

Then we go cruising. I decided to use the Swamp route instead since it's a much more scenic drive through some hilly farmlands.

LOL, I thought about that at one point. In all honest though, although I'm not superstitious, I swear that there is some supernatural force out there that will not allow me to personally have A/C if it wasn't working when I got the car (my own personal cars). Every car that I've ever owned (sort of the current TWO) that didn't have working A/C in it when I got it had something catastrophic happen right after putting the A/C back in it.

Basically 4 different cars were totaled right after putting the A/C back in it. There actually has been 5 incidents though, just one of the 4 (1st gen RX-7) had two separate incidents. That one the first time had an engine fire (carb float stuck open and flooded the top of the engine with fuel and it caught fire and burned the entire engine bay pretty badly). That occurred 2 days after getting the A/C back in it (all custom lines and everything cause none of the stuff is available any more and all was destroyed). After doing everything to fix the fire damage along with building a new turbo engine for it and changing over to EFI instead of carbs, I decided one day to do the AC again. We that same day after getting the AC back in it and running out to grab some lunch, an old man pulled out of a parking lot and I T-boned him (car totaled). The other 3 were totaled within days of putting the A/C back in them. One of them I was hit by a drunk driver head on (luckily low speed), one was rear ended hard by some woman putting on her damn makeup and the 3rd was some young girl ran a red light and T-boned me.

I've fixed and or in stalled A/C in dozens of others cars but in the end, if I try to do my own A/C in my own personal cars, they are doomed (its like I'm giving the car a death sentence) so I don't even bother. 20vmki08-27-2013, 11:58 AMHey just wanted to remind everyone that the cruise is coming up this Saturday at 11am. If you are coming from Orlando we will be caravaning from the Citgo at I4 and W. Michigan St.

Meeting at 9:45 am
Leaving at 10:00 am
Arrive at Hooters at 11am

If you plan to meet here please let me know so we can do our best to not leave anyone behind.
