both are kinda the same but not (comparing photos) and one is more expensive.

Both apparantly use garrett internals.

Please dont flame me- the supra guys (and many others) are now using these turbos and making some good power!

*in the mood to buy stuff*

Edit: have decided to stop being silly and wait untill i have a finished engine to bolt one of these too.... hahaha.

-nathan Node09-13-2006, 09:57 AMHeh, well Im not a fan of the T70 for the V6 but the price is definately right. How high are you going to rev that motor? If you are keeping stock redline you may want to either consider a smaller AR turbine & compressor housing or get something that has a flow that matches your engines requirements.

Hers is some info to help you figure out what compressor you should be looking for. http://gnttype.org/techarea/turbo/turboflow.html
and some efficiency maps http://not2fast.wryday.com/turbo/maps/
http://not2fast.wryday.com/turbo/maps/t70.gif And a T460 compressorhttp://not2fast.wryday.com/turbo/maps/t04e-60.gif Node09-13-2006, 10:01 AMIf you have the 3.0 you will be beyond the surge line during boost with the T70-60 With a TO4-E you would be very close in some situations but that compressor is MUCH more suited for your build. Unless you are building a dragster, then, my bad.

Jim P flyingbrick09-13-2006, 01:35 PMCheers guys (that links awesome thanks node!). I was pointed towards the T-70 by a friend. I'm building the motor to cope with an eventual 650whp (will crank the boost once i have forged internals in) and expect a pretty laggy ride untill then. Kinda figure for that kinda price i may as well give it a go :-O

Will keep looking :)

-Nathan Toysrme09-13-2006, 02:06 PMI wouldn't touch either one of them with a 10 foot pole. They're not garrets, so they're not T70's. You've got a 50-50 shot of those two not being rebuilt, just cleaned, and a 50-50 shot of the oil seals already leaking.
Not only that, but neither of those turbo's are really T70 compressor wheel specifications to begin with.
They're both T3 T04e-60 hybrids using t3 style wheels in a t4 turbine housing.

If you're looking for a t3/t4 hybrid.
Find you a real t3/t04s 60-1. You can get them with t3 turbine housings, or t4 turbine housings. Mate that with the biggest external chinese wastegate you can afford on ebay. Those are the flat out biggest real t3/t4 hybrids you can find, remain responcive on that engine, and can make insane power without much manifold pressure.

I'm not sure if you'd make it to 650whp on a t3/t04s 60-1, and like I said, that's the biggest t3 hybrid you'll find. 550 would be fairly easy, but further really depends on how the engine & turbo respond as the turbo is back sliding it's compressor effeciancy VS the big whirling restriction in the exhaust.
