View Full Version : anyone bored in atlanta this weekend??

chuck06-03-2005, 08:09 PMi'm gonna try to get the MR2 going for good this weekend, I need to find out what O2 sensor I need and maybe replace it, replace the axle seal on the tranny, and replace the front wheel bearings. i'm sure i can find out how to do this but i figure if someone is bored and wants to lend a newbie a hand it would be much appreacated (cough cough free beer as long as you want to work)...i'm open both saturday and sunday so if anyone thinks they might be interested just let me know either here or on AIM. i'm in lawrenceville. MR2TRD106-04-2005, 02:04 PMI've got a bascially brand new 02 sensor if u need it. Let me know if you need it. Triad.:06-04-2005, 06:11 PMHave fun replacing that tranny seal. It is a pain in the ass to get out. Couldn't imagine getting it out with the engine still in the car...

edit: wheel bearings aren't going to be fun either. Just in case, look up lawrenceville auto in downtown l'ville. It's a machine shop just in case you need them to press out your old bearings. chuck06-04-2005, 06:14 PMI've got a bascially brand new 02 sensor if u need it. Let me know if you need it.
i still need one i'm just not sure which one i need, the one that is in there now (unplugged) doesn't seem to match up with any part of my wiring harness...these are the two open plugs i have, one is the fan relay and the other is the O2 sensor...if it fits one of these then i want it for sure.

well crap...i figured it would pop in from the outside, do i have to put it in from the inside of the housing??? i'm pretty sure that's what is wrong because the guy broke the intermediate (sp) shaft bracket and popped the whole axle out of the tranny, i figured if it popped out then i could just pop a new one in, but i guess it probably broke now that i think about it. i really just need to suck it up and put my new transmission in already, its just sitting in my garage waiting for a home. Triad.:06-04-2005, 06:23 PMYou are talking about the rear main seal correct? It's on the driver side of the car. The problem isn't getting it in. The problem is pulling that rat bastard out without scratching the hell out of the tranny. chuck06-04-2005, 06:33 PMYou are talking about the rear main seal correct? oh no, i was talking about the little seal that goes on the passenger side of an open diff tranny where the axle plugs in...sorry, i'm bad at explaining things Triad.:06-04-2005, 06:35 PMOh. Disregard my last comment then. Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
