SilverFire05-04-2013, 04:55 PMI've had this AW11 now for almost two years. When I bought it, the paint was so faded it was more pink than red.

My 15-year-old nephew convinced me to wax it as an experiment today. Was it ever worth it!

Quite a difference, all with just regular old Turtle Wax. Now I want to find a power polisher and see if that will bring it up that last little bit to make the difference between " not embarrassingly bad" and " actually nice".

Otherwise you're going to stripping the wax off and having to redo it. Nine-Breaker05-13-2013, 10:48 PMPolish the paint before you wax it. This. I got the heavy Turtle Wax paint polisher. Comes in a green container. Used it on my junkyard fenders.

It turned out great except I forgot to remove the white lettering so once I removed it, it was still oxidized underneath LOL! And I haven't gotten around to swapping the side moulding either. Oh yeah and this was done by hand and only polish, no wax. ZombieSOHC05-17-2013, 09:20 AMThat looks great guys! I have to say, I sort of like the patina on mine. So I'm not sure if I will follow suit. MR2Monk12-15-2013, 04:34 AMI need to do this to my new MR2!! Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
