itsbrantar04-12-2013, 12:47 AMI hope the respect can be given and my idea not be stolen. I have done the research and am looking for a shop that will help me with my Frankenstein conversion. I hope to get feed back and help if we run into any problems along the way. This is only a photo shopped picture that i wanted to show you guys. If this has been done please send me any and all info to my Email: itsbrantar@gmail.com label it as AWLEVIN. I left the Honda scene in hope to create the next true JDM Frankenstein.

25406 Iroke04-12-2013, 04:59 PMthat dosent look hard at all...ithink sorcing the parts would be harder. kevAW1104-12-2013, 05:39 PMI'm all for people trying new things and messing with their cars...but this?

Why?

They're two great looking cars. Key word being "two", not one. But hey, that's my opinion. Do what you will. SilverFire04-13-2013, 12:12 PMIt has been done. Do a search for mrolla or doublesuck lemons car.

Theirs looked like crap, but it was a chumpcar/24hrs of lemons racer, so they didn't put any effort into making it look good.

Sent from my Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 2. omarAW1104-13-2013, 12:38 PMThe mrolla was twin engined.

OP hasnt told us if he wants to swap just front ends or more.

I like my flippy headlights. mr2tim04-13-2013, 05:59 PMLotsa labor cost in there bub. Having a shop do the work is going to cost you an arm and leg. Getting a shop to give you an estimate will be nearly impossible. They will ask for a $5,000 retainer no doubt to just start the job.

Fiberglass the headlightcovers to the hood BTDT not much of a problem, cut off the Mr2 front end-1/2hr with a sawzall. Welding on (whatever is a Levin) front clip is sounds like the real challenge and money lossing part of the job. There also may be some body work costs at the front of the fenders

You might yourself add the wiring to cheapen the job. (If you can get shop to buy off on this offer to take money away from them).

Good luck with the project and shopping it with the body shop in Rocklin.

Remember buddy it's really not whether it can be done, it's how much money do you wanna spend?? If you have dream & $ go for it.

The same car are the AE86 that people drift with. The fender and hood are all bolt one. The only fabrication will be removing the radiator support and welding the Levin front in. Also if I swap it to RHD will be cutting a new hole in the fire wall. Thanks for the tips though. BlackWidowMR204-20-2013, 11:02 AMive always wondered if some of the aftermarket AE86 parts would fit an AW11. like the body pieces. those aggressive front lips on the rollas are killer toyotaspeed9004-25-2013, 03:33 PMTim the Levin is a 1987 Toyota corolla in japan. Almost all of this information is incorrect.

The length from the door to the front bumper is much longer in an AE86. The hood is longer and I would also guess that the distance between the door and the fenderwell is different.

The angle at which the hood slopes down is steeper than on an AE86 (levin or trueno).... so essentially at the very basics you're looking at building an entirely new front chasis. You might as well build a one-off tubular front chasis that's meant for an AE86.

This isn't something that's simple to do. Domma05-10-2013, 03:44 PMThe only mr2levin i have seen was a mark2 that somone put a levin front on, but ive allways wanted the tureno front end on mine as they look similar but different but everyone has their opinions so best of luck svitak3306-12-2013, 09:09 PMouch...... If the roof lines and the lines on the back end were straighter, and the spoiler was different, I think it might look cool. The proportions are pretty nice. It's got a great stance. BlackWidowMR207-17-2013, 11:40 PMHmm....although I can admire the work, the ass being rounded and the front being square kinda throws it off. Domma07-21-2013, 01:07 AMThat conversion would work better with the aw11 becuase the body shape is alot closer than the round sw corolla_alan01-16-2015, 04:37 PMI'm all for a Levin nose but would affect the aero negatively right? Looking into Levin headlights to lower my pop-up's for less frontal drag with lights on. corolla_alan03-28-2018, 01:23 AM41500
You would be better off using fwd panels. corolla_alan03-30-2018, 05:10 AM41508 Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
