View Full Version : WTB: S/C MR2 (4A-GZE) Parts for AE86 Swap

Conan01-11-2013, 12:15 AMHave 4A-GZE and AE86 SR5 Coupe, and gearing up for a swap. Not entirely sure what all I'll need, but a real Toyota Shop Manual for the the GZE ('88 S/C MR2) is first priority. Engine is complete, minus all harnesses and electronics. Thinking of a stand-alone EMS, but still pretty ignorant of what needs to get controlled and how. Open to a turbo conversion if the price is right, but thinking stock power with a little tuning potential to start with until it's running and sorted.

Any comments or advice most welcomed-- it looks like a pretty obvious natural AE86 swap, but I'm just starting to line things up now and I'm open to do something different if I'm signing up for a nightmare of unavailable parts. If there is a S/C MR2 in a yard somewhere, I haven't found it yet. A real shop manual for the GZE is essential to even start, and AE86 and MR2 books with complete wiring diagrams are high on the list, too. (Not going to ask for GT-S parts on an MR2 forum, but I'll need a bunch of that stuff, too if you have leads.)

Thanks!

i have a 88 alltrac with a caldina swap running off a honda p28 doing 18lbs .... i can help u with research or any parts info bla bla ... mr2tim01-19-2013, 11:05 PMGood to see your going to read up with the Service Manual before jumping into this swap. Suggest you go to the archives section and read up of other Forum members who have dallyed with this swap stuff. It can be confusing.
