View Full Version : Theres no shine like mothers...(30 pics beware)

CyFi08-06-2006, 07:54 PMWell i went to the store today, picked up a mothers claying kit for my car because of all the tar i had stuck on the front of it. The kit was great, it included a bottle of spray, a clay bar, and some wax, enough for the whole car. So first i clayed the car, i was suprised on how well it worked, i flipped the bar over and all i could see was black bits. After i clayed the whole car all that spray stuff left lots of residue because i didnt wipe it up right away. So then i used the mothers polish they gave on the whooole car, i used it generously and still have a bit left. To my suprise it got rid of all the tar, AND it got rid of these mud stains that EVERY POLISH WOULD NOT GET RID OF, they were really bugging me, and they are now gone. Big props to mothers. When have you seen a 15 year old car with original paint, 170k miles, not terribly babied, look like this.....

*begins looking online for a kit to order* Angel08-06-2006, 09:05 PMOMG DUCKIESSSSSS

Lookin good xD

And I run stockies too, kthx, and they're beautiful, covered in all that dirt I never wash off. TKMR208-06-2006, 09:06 PMlookin good, i need to do the same to mine. Just Wong It08-06-2006, 09:50 PMwow it looks great. so how long did it take you do clay bar the whole car, plus waxing and washing it? CyFi08-06-2006, 10:04 PMid say a little over 2 hours including the wash, probably around 3. Claying is easy, takes no effort, just time, all you do is spray and glide the clay along Zero08-06-2006, 10:23 PMVery nice job on the claybarring. michaelmr208-07-2006, 08:27 AMjust get some shiney black tire cleaner to match the rest of your car.... VTsuckah13108-08-2006, 09:53 AMYou need to put another coat of wax/polish on her. The wax that is in the kit is just a cleaner wax it really does not protect your paint all that well. mikeswickednick08-08-2006, 11:03 AMis it me or does the refelection look stretched, try using a polish wax then a new wax on top, should help get that deep mirrored look Mekkahfire08-08-2006, 11:41 AMVery nice man!

Whats with a claybar? I dont know much about detailing. Whats a claybar do. ekeosi08-08-2006, 01:43 PMit looks really nice.

It removes all the contaminants from your clear coat/paint. It gets rid of overspray, bug shizzle, old wax from crevices, etc. Using it will make your paint surface feel very very smooooooooth. Mekkahfire08-09-2006, 04:09 PMHmm i might get my friend to help me out with some claybar action. Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
