Sorry Im in Atlanta GA..30189 te51levin06-07-2012, 11:49 AMYou will probably not be able to locate a clean windshield, have it removed successfully, ship it to wherever you are, and install it without breakage at some point. Contact a local independent (i.e. not national chain) auto glass installer. I had a new Pilkington windshield installed in my '85 a few years back and am very pleased with it. 86turbo4agte06-08-2012, 10:06 AMAgggghhhhhh I dont want a new one but if I can find one that might have to be an option HUH....LOL

Really? They're cheap, easy to find and likely to last longer than a used one. Even of you DO find one, get it out intact, and it survives shipping.

I replaced mine last fall - cost $175 Canadian installed. te51levin06-14-2012, 12:56 PMOP should probably post his location. Shipping will not be an option...he'll need to find a seller who is local to him. 86turbo4agte06-21-2012, 11:00 AMte51levin thanks.. mr2tim06-23-2012, 07:34 PMI agree with Arron most owners can't ship auto glass and without experience or help definately should not remove one.

My favorite auto import yard pulls them with a new microwave heater instead of the piano wire method which is really car & mechanic un-friendly.(BTDT)

If you do locate one locally be sure not to cheapout with the sealing putty, use only the best you can find. You will also need the upper trim for the exterior of the windshield since it's nearly impossible to remove without bending. And oh yeah, put towels or blankets over the dash unless your ready to replace your current dash.

Here in Florida, Insurance Companies are required by law to replace broken windshilds without a deductible- just thought I'd thow that in. :) :) Kerry Phillips06-23-2012, 07:47 PMI agree, new windshield can be had for $150 or less. You will also be surprised, on any 25 year old car that windshield is NOT as transparent as you think, my 87 has a lot of road hash- to the point I am replacing it.
