MR2_BOOST04-29-2012, 03:03 AMI wanted to do this to my mr2 but idk how it would look if people have done it I would like to see it aswell kevAW1104-29-2012, 06:32 AMI know of one person that's done it, and I'm pretty sure it was on this forum, but that requires much more digging than I'm in the mood for at the moment. strictlymister204-29-2012, 07:26 PMMy friend did it but he sold the car and lost the pictures he said it looks clean but i want to see it :( Rusty Pancelode05-02-2012, 10:27 PMI know of one person that's done it, and I'm pretty sure it was on this forum, but that requires much more digging than I'm in the mood for at the moment.

LOL. That's what I'm saying...
I just saw it the other day by accident, but for the life of me I can't find it again, and I AM in the mood to dig.
:) kevAW1105-03-2012, 06:18 AMplease do. this has been bugging me ever since lol, but I've been reading older threads about custom mods. the fender mirror has been growing on me since I'm a huge fan of it on other classic imports. I need a DIY project to keep me active since my new schedule ruined my social life lol. Kiroshino05-03-2012, 07:43 AMDid a quick search and found one:

That's the one that I saw.
Thanks for saying it was a quick search.
Makes me look incompetent. LOL:rofl:
(To be honest, some of the stuff on this site tends to blend together after a while.lol) mr305-03-2012, 12:31 PMI don't like them on the aw. I had them on my sw and it flowed better with the shape of the car. ChaksQ05-03-2012, 12:59 PMI don't like them on the aw. I had them on my sw and it flowed better with the shape of the car.

Pics or it didn't happen. Seriously though I want to see how they look. Also what mirrors did you use? Kiroshino05-03-2012, 01:15 PMThat's the one that I saw.

You may not be incompetent. I just hack (aka use the search engine). :p

Studying for finals, so I didn't want to spend too much time. It literally took something like ten seconds. If it took any longer than 30 seconds, I would have given up.

Search > Enter "fender mirror*" under keywords. Search only the "Mk 1 MR2 - AW11" forum. > Click "Search Now"

Currently, four threads will show. I knew about this thread, and mr2tim's FS thread probably wouldn't have anything, so that left two threads. Chances are that the "Lets see those MK1's" thread would have something, so I clicked that.

At the top of the thread, click "Search this Thread" and enter "fender mirror*" again. Two results pop up: a post by me (no, I'm not running fender mirrors) and another person discussing another post. Click that one, scroll up, voila.

There are probably more, but I'm not going to dig any deeper.

On topic, not a big fan of fender mirrors in general. mr305-03-2012, 01:45 PMhttp://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj237/Rickrickdudeatverizondotnet/6c21e606.jpg

They were off an 82 chevy el camino. They look decent in pics but really good in person. Rusty Pancelode05-03-2012, 04:08 PMYou may not be incompetent. I just hack (aka use the search engine). :p

HAHAHA!
It took you longer to type all that than it did to find the thread.
I used the search, but didn't narrow the selections, so I am somewhat incompetent. LOL:rofl:

And, to get back on to the mirrors...
I think those fender mirrors look outstanding on small, older Japanese sedans and such (Celicas, coronas, etc...), but the newer the car, the odder they seem (with maybe '84 being the limit for me).
The AW11 just might be angular enough for me to change my old-school mind though.

I like it. ChaksQ05-04-2012, 12:51 PMMR3, your mirrors looks better than I was expecting. I'm vaguely tempted to try this on my car. mr305-04-2012, 01:47 PMI did it because I bought the car with no mirrors and had the old chevy ones laying around. I wasn't expecting to look that good but when they were on, I loved them. You could see everything without goose necking. Unfortunately that car was a heep of shit. I really wish I kept it instead of getting fed up and parting it out over something that wasn't that big of an issue. If I get another second gen, I will do the same thing. dragraceman2105-05-2012, 04:11 AMDid a quick search and found one:

OH HELL NO! Rusty Pancelode05-05-2012, 11:44 AMMounting the mirrors on the fenders sure makes a MK1 door look bare.:undecided Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
