GStar0103-21-2012, 03:44 AMHello,

thinking about putting MS on my 3sgte Engine. Which crank sensor original is this engine? Yes i know from the diyautotune Kit. So it must go, with original ignition or?

Heard often EDIS is crap..

Thanks for your Help, Greetings Michael 328FTW03-21-2012, 04:18 AMYou can bolt a crank wheel onto the outside of the pulley like this

OR run off the dizzy using the stock pickups. Your call. The toyota is a 24-1, 24-2 wheel? I forget, I used a crank pickup.

As for making it plug and play that's harder, either hack up a broken 3sgte ecu for the pins or make your own harness using a chopped harness out of someone's halfcut they have bought. Those are probably the cheapest/easiest ways to make it easy to "plug and play". I think they have P&P kits but it's better to make your own harness in my opinion.

You can do what I did to my honda and solder your own plugs and wires onto all the componants but that is going a bit overboard. However I can unhook all the plugs on my motor in about 5 minutes this way :) Big Thurs03-27-2012, 04:52 PMThe stock 3s dizzy has a 24-2 and I think a 4 tooth wheel. The important one is the 24-2, but they share the same ground so people have had issues with noise from the other vr sensor. IMO, he easiest solution is buying a bolt on trigger wheel for the crank or welding a ford 36-1 wheel on the crank like I did. EDIS isn't bad, but with ms it lacks spark cut and the diagnostic capabilities using the tooth logger.

As far as harnesses go, how's this for semi pnp:

No modification to the stock harness, just stock wiring and a supplemental harness Benckj03-27-2012, 05:36 PMI'm looking at going the MS3 with Ign & fuel maps with my gen3. Trying to get a handle on the requirments so my migration will be transparent. Bought an old ECU so I can use as a junction box to interface the MS with my loom and then plug back in the OEM ECU if I have problems. That's the plan so far.

There are some good 3sgte examples running with MS on the forum. Good to keep track of thier problems & solutions. Nice to know that they have an active forum with lots of help. Hoping I won't need it once I decide to bite the bullet
