780GTS12-09-2011, 08:31 PM... Ok so I want to convert my amber corner lenses to clear or diamond, I am a perfectionist so I want everything installed correctly and fitting perfectly haha I just want to straighten out a bit of confusion I have...

Do the actual Toyota OEM ones from 97+ (or whatever year they had clear) fit into the 92 JDM perfectly with no modification? if not what needs to be done

Another option is the diamond ones I found on the EMSpowered website... but they say they are for the USDM model and mine is JDM... I emailed them and they said they said possibly a but of altering may be needed... now I am just wondering what this altering would possibly be... if any.

Thanks a bunch!!!

Oh... and one more thing, in your guys opinion which of the 2 looks nicer and fits better?? numbers12-09-2011, 09:29 PMDo the actual Toyota OEM ones from 97+ (or whatever year they had clear) fit into the 92 JDM perfectly with no modification?

Yes.

No clue, sorry.

Thanks a bunch!!!
You're welcome.

Depends on the car and if you are going to keep your toblerones/source clear ones/remove them entirely. MR20912-10-2011, 05:26 AM... This might help clear up when the clear indicators/turn signals were available.
It lists MR2 revisions from 1989-1999:
Mister2 - MR2 Owners (http://www.1066.seriouslyinternet.com/hosted/mister2/)
"MR2 SW20 Revision 4 -
This version arrived in late 1995 and again lasted about two years until the end of 1997. Changes over the Revision 3 were very subtle; indicators changed from amber to white and the alloy wheels were different."

I can't give you my own experiences concerning installation and which clear corners to purchase, as I have left the front indicators amber on all of my MR2's.

The first person that I would talk to about clear lenses would be:
wolfie308(The Lensmeister): Toyota MR2 Message Board - View Profile: wolfie308 (http://mr2.zhutiblog.com/com/forums/members/wolfie308.html)
Send him a PM or Visitor Message and he may be able to help you.

If you haven't seen his work yet, definitely check out what he does.
He has handcrafted/molded limited quantities of previously unavailable clear lenses(taillights, indicators, signals, repeaters) for many different vehicles/sports cars, and the final products are all of pristine quality.
Here is a link to a directory of all the clear lense threads he has started:
http://mr2.zhutiblog.com/com/forums/search.php?searchid=1604341

I can't make any promises that he has installed a certain part if he hasn't yet reproduced them with clear lenses, but it's worth a shot to send him a message and ask if he's dealt with any of the parts your trying to install.
Even if he hasn't messed with the turn signals(he has produced clear side repeaters which are next to the turn signals), you may be interested in his lens conversions if your trying to go as clear as possible.

There are also hundred's of people that have bought and installed clear turn signals, as they are readily available, compared to the rare creations from wolfie308. Hopefully you'll be able to get some info on those turn signals fairly quickly.
It's also a conversion that I've been thinking about doing, so be sure to post how installation goes and which company you went with. It's always nice to know some hints and tips ahead of time.

Thanks and good luck. MR20912-10-2011, 02:52 PMThe first person that I would talk to about clear lenses would be:

I see that you already knew of the Lensmeister from this taillight posting:

Hey I like those lights... but I need to see them on a red car cuz I might just keep my orange on the red car... I'm gonna PM you :-)

Oh well, at least other people have a direct link to his posts.
Have you found out any more about the clear turn signals? RePete04-04-2012, 07:12 PMEMS charges a mint for those clear corners you can get on eBay for about $32. Just use 'clear bumper lights mr2' as a search term. You can read my review here (http://mr2.zhutiblog.com/com/forums/product-reviews/Toyota-MR2-74259-product-review-ebay-mk2-clear-corners-side-markers.html). 780GTS04-09-2012, 12:51 AMthanks buuud! made my choice I'll go with the eBay and if I am not happy I'll sell them and buy the Toyotas! :) awaken05-04-2012, 09:42 AMI have a 92 and just picked up some new OEM clear corners from DB8 (he may still have some). I think with them being so brand new, they haven't settled in completely yet... cause there is the tiniest gap that is happening between the front and side marker that is not allowing them to sit completely flush. Others wouldn't see it, but I see it. It took some pushing to get the side into it's attachment hole (sprayed a lil wd-40 on it to help) and I didn't want to end up cracking them if I pushed any harder. I'll revisit it after a couple weeks and see if I can get it to sit more flush. Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
