jeremynandrew10-27-2011, 08:22 PMHello all, I'm the proud owner of an 88 mr2 that came very low mileage (i'm excited about my new car :). cars interior has seen better days though, im looking for interior trim( i dont know the technical name of parts) that looks like it came off the dealer floor from 88. the part around the radio/ac console needs replacing along with the dashboard, the little plastic things around door handle on interior are busted, little cup things on door arm rest under handle are gone, and so on. pretty much anything inside that is plastic/vinyl needs new, the cloth parts are in good shape. To get to the point of this post... if anyone could fill me in on proper names of interior parts or direct me to an area of the internet or a book that could educate me on said interior parts that would be swell and I am in the market for interior parts as well... I am looking for stock parts, I want the car to look like i went back in time to 88 and bought a brand new mr2 right off the floor :) when i am done with it. I am going to borrow a camera from a friend and take pics shortly of interior so i can put a photo with my description of parts so all will make more sense... Thankyou for your time and consideration -Jeremy toyota luuub10-27-2011, 09:33 PMI got an extra dashboard out in the shed. though it does have rollbar cutouts, you might be able to use some of it. i'll check again when you get pics and go look at it. i dont think i'm gonna use it. mr2tim10-28-2011, 11:48 AMYes sir, pictures are a very good thing. den62110-28-2011, 12:35 PMI have a few interior parts left over from my old car. Pm sent Smokestoomuch10-30-2011, 11:08 PMI have a 4'X4' box brimmed with interior parts from an '87. They will be going into the trash soon if nobody wants them.

"the little plastic things around door handle on interior are busted, little cup things on door" I have both of these.

"arm rest under handle are gone" I have both of these. jeremynandrew10-31-2011, 01:24 PMPictures by jeremynandrew - Photobucket (http://s1120.photobucket.com/albums/l491/jeremynandrew/)

link to my photobucket of parts of car that need replacement

the mirror and panel for mirror is the driver side
busted out window pane is passenger side
both driver and passenger side door panels need the whole vinyl part(seems uni-piece so damage to part is damage to whole i guess)

Part that i didnt shoot because it doesnt look broken but is: the driver side t-top panel lock does not lock, handle for release works just the actual keylock does not engage.

I hope this clears stuff up, if questions are still abound just ask and ill shoot more photos and give more description. If needed to I will call shipping to schedule pickup for C.O.D. to my place, just list an asking price or pm me about that stuff. Thanks mr2.com forum for attempting to beautify my dream car :) jon11911-02-2011, 06:02 AMYou'll probably have a hard time finding beige interior parts as this color wasn't very popular. Your best bet would be to find a cheap parts car (accidented or blown motor...)with a black interior and swap everything out (I changed my blue interior to black this way). Seeing as how you are in Texas, it may be hard to find a dashboard that is uncracked but there are often ones that pop up for sale here or on the MR2OC in the for sale section.

Good luck with your dream car restoration.

Jon jeremynandrew11-02-2011, 11:50 AMTY Jon for the info, im starting to gather that beige wasnt popular as lots of peeps are telling me the same thing... funny because i picked up a shell that needed a new motor that i never got to that had a beige interior also, wish i still had it but it was left to the scrapyard when i moved :(

New part needed as well, more wanted than needed:

car i bought had its 88 sidescoop vent replaced with the earlier double vert from 86-earlier, I would like to replace it with the original year shape but thats icing on the cake, I like learning these thing from mr2.com cause it shows that people are nice enough to share knowledge mr2tim11-03-2011, 04:47 PMHave a qtr panel glass,
C Pillar vent,
88-89 Side vent (fiberglass)

I also have some center ac vents that you can paint to match that low production interior color scheme.

Look me up when your ready to buy.
