View Full Version : Bumpers / Tail lights

pyrofreak8596709-11-2011, 06:09 PMAlright my first question is, would it be better to get after market front and rear bumpers? or get them repainted? i like the bumpers they are just faded.

Then my second question is, does anyone have pictures of their cars with blacked out tail lights? Bigbacon09-11-2011, 09:53 PMi say repaint.

after market body kit parts are hit or miss on fitment.

if you get an after market part, you'll still have to pay to have it painted AND you'll have to get fitted. pyrofreak8596709-11-2011, 10:11 PMthats what i thought to, but ive seen some bumpers that have fog light/ driving light spots in them too. i havent seen too many mk1s with fog lights or a second set of driving lights RuggishBone09-12-2011, 01:42 AMi got fog lights on my Mr2 this is when i first got them Now i have 3k yellow bulbs on them

The MK1 body kits don't look very good IMO. My car came with a kit on it and it's all sorts of hacked up. Rear panels were cut off and I still have 1 fender to replace. The stock lines look great and in the long run it's just more sensible. RuggishBone09-12-2011, 09:59 PMOr just buy a half Bumper From Retro-Spec

But most if not all kits will require minor fabrication, for mine, it was around the fender flares. Also the kit I used sits 1.5" lower than stock, and I also have lowering springs. So I've got 3" less clearance up front and have to hit elevated driveways at an angle lol. But its all up to you. pyrofreak8596711-12-2011, 11:39 PMruggish bone thats sickkk, how did you mount themm? and mr2tim im a noob when it comes to certain things, like i know there are a and b series cars but idk what the differences are. pyrofreak8596711-30-2011, 02:23 PMAll right im getting my bumpers painted and i need to take the bumpers off the car. Anyone have any advice? is there a thread on taking them off? i got some advice from Dragraceman just seeing if anyone else has any info Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc.
