maverick2308-11-2011, 10:59 AMTaking suggestions on setups to pair w/ Koni struts....
Thanks! ivyboy08-11-2011, 01:04 PMThose are all good choices. I know most people pair the Koni adjustable struts with the Eibach Pro Kit springs, but that may be due primarily to cost and/or availability rather than price. maverick2308-12-2011, 06:49 PMYou're right Ivy, after further research that is likely what I am going with. MikeV08-13-2011, 09:43 AMWhat spring rate are you looking for, and how much drop?

When I installed Konis, I wanted to find the stiffest branded aftermarket springs I could. Turned out to be the Tein springs. Problem (for me) was, a little too much drop for my liking (they say something like 1.2"/1.4", in reality both ends of the car were more than 1.5" lower after install -- but maybe that just means I just need to lose some weight).

If you search hard enough here and on Spyderchat and on the web in general, you can find spring rates for Eibach, Tein, Tanabe (if you can still get them), etc springs for the Spyder. In reality, they are all pretty soft, the Teins (stiffest branded aftermarket springs) are only ~50% stiffer than stock.

Right at the moment I'm running the Konis with the stock springs... while I construct a custom setup with 3K/4K springs. The Teins are sitting in my garage (FS cheap with a couple hundred miles on them if you're interested).

IIRC all the name brands use linear springs for the Spyder, so it all comes down to height & rate. Unloaded the Teins are almost exactly 2" shorter than stock (~9" vs ~11", IIRC), but when loaded the lower stock spring rate compresses them more.

Also BTW, if you want to go new, I can get decent pricing on the Eibach and H&R (& Tein). ivyboy08-17-2011, 10:19 PMI did some research on springs a while back before buying the Eibach Pro-Kit springs.

Brand - drop: Front / Rear; spring rate: Front / Rear
Eibach Pro-Kit Performance - drop: 1.2" / 1.2"; spring rate: ? / ?
H&R Sport - drop: 1.3" / 1.2"; spring rate: ? / ?
Intrax Sport Springs - Drop 1.6" / 1.5"; spring rate: ? / ?
Sprint Performance Lowering Springs - drop: 1.8" / 1.8"; spring rate: ? / ?
Swift Sport Springs - drop: 0.8" / 1.2"; spring rate: ? / ?
Tanabe GF210 ("Max Performance") - drop: 1.2" / 1.2"; spring rate: 2.2 / 2.5
Tanabe NF210 ("Max Comfort) - drop: 1.2" / 1.2"; spring rate: 1.5 / 2.2
Tein S. Tech - drop: 1.4" / 1.2"; spring rate: 1.9 / 2.9

Note: I didn't provide prices, because discounts from MSRP can vary widely. Dalamardon07-27-2016, 07:46 PMI've got a set of new H&R Coil Springs for a 2000-2005.......it's on Ebay with free shipping......listed as
