View Full Version : WTB: gen2 Intercooler side fan harness plug

b2mr208-08-2011, 09:04 PMDoes anybody have a gen2 intercooler side, fan harness plug with some wire slack so I can crimp wires to a spal fan.

Mine broke at the plug side so I don't have enough slack to solder or crimp a connector.

thanks. ridevryday08-08-2011, 09:35 PMWhy don't you just run straight crimps from the fan to the car?
How do you plan on re connecting a plug if you cant even crimp it? b2mr208-08-2011, 09:41 PMI don't want to cut off the fan plug on the harness side that's why. I just want to keep to accessible with the oem plug.

Right now my oem plug on the fan side the wire tore off from the end of the plug, hence why I'm looking for the plug side to a stock fan with some wire length to it :) b2mr208-08-2011, 09:46 PMMaybe it's better I bring the plug to a place where they can just replace the 2 wires with 2 new wires in the plug for me... lol ridevryday08-08-2011, 09:54 PMYeah I'm sure any little shop would be able to throw new plugs in it. Or there are multiple people parting out cars in the buy/sell section. Luni08-08-2011, 10:49 PMId just go to the junkyard like a pick and pull and Id find a molex connection in an engine bay that has the amount of wires in it you need and just cut it out and reconnect that in yours if you cant find your connection. Sang08-08-2011, 10:53 PMIf the connector broke but the seals, terminals, and wires are fine, do what I told you about in your o2 sensor thread. Find the 5 digit part number. The shell for a 2-pin connector can't be more than $5 or so from toyota at MSRP. Then just in plug in the terminals from your old connector onto the new one. b2mr208-08-2011, 11:17 PMThe pick and pull sounds like something I can do. Molex meaning the circular type like the i/c fan plug?

Sorry when it comes to harness plugs and how the wires are connected inside it, I'm really not too good at it.

Sang: Let me show you a photo of my plug so you know want I mean:

So the wire is way to short now if I had to remove it and place it in a new 2-pin connector, right? That's why I'm looking for the connecting with the wires long enough so I can crimp or solder them to the spal fan wires. b2mr208-09-2011, 12:09 AMI think I got it! lol. I dissembled the plug on the short wire side (ground) and pulled all the insulation off. I'm just going to solder or crimp a longer wire and reinsert the connector inside.
