View Full Version : Beams For Sale: 97' JDM 3SGE "Beams" Redtop w/ mr220v PnP Harness & ECU

karate_crimson06-07-2011, 09:52 PMA worthy first post I would say. I'm visiting from Club4AG forums and figured this motor may gather more interest here. I might have posted this in the wrong section twice, so I've decided to post it here specifically for Beams owners.

Was helping a friend with swapping this engine into an MKii MR2, but he went in another direction. Another chassis entirely actually. The motor is very clean, came from an automatic JDM Celica. Estimated 40-50,000 miles without abuse. The engine harness was done by none other than "mr220v" of this forum.

Engine Details:
The 3S-GE Beams VVT-I RedTop Version is the generation 4 of the Toyota 3S-GE series. The Beams Redtop was available in only a few models sold only in Japan. The Toyota MR2 which only 1000 were produced, the Caldina, Celica ST202 SS-II and SS-III were all complemented by the Beams Engine in the late 1990's.

Seller's Notes:
-The harness is for plug-and-play use on a mkii MR2. ($425 value)
-Automatic ECU is included ($200 value).
-Engine has a brand new VVTi sensor and main water outlet from Japan ($350 value).
-Engine has original B-pipe which is rare to find. Cut after the O2 bung, so it is still very much usable.
-Brand New Toyota Oil Filter
-Brand New Toyota Red Coolant
-Original Alternator
-Original Heatshields

Also have some extra swap goodies for sale! Willing to work out a package deal for everything

-Brand New 3SGTE ARP Flywheel Bolts (works with Beams motor) ($50 value)
-3SGTE Flywheel (needs resurfacing) (works with Beams motor) ($40 value)
-Brand New F1 Racing OEM 5SFE Clutch Kit (clutch disc works with Beams motor) ($115 value)
-MKii MR2 Stainless Steel Brake Lines ($180 value)
-MKii MR-2 S54 5-speed transmission w/ axles (works with Beams motor)
-Brand New Slave Cylinder

Parts that needs replacing:
-Throttle Position Sensor
-Knock Sensor

Asking price is $2000 $1750, which is a more than reasonable price for all that is included. Engine is semi dis-assembled for photos (Intake manifold, coil-plug cover, other misc). Will be fully assembled upon pickup. Not in a rush to sell. No lowballers.

IM or email with any questions, thanks.

May consider shipping this. Of course if you need an engine shipped you also know of the cost. Would rather cater to local interest of course. karate_crimson06-09-2011, 10:01 PMPrice drop for this weekend. $1750!
Most engines at this price are right off the ship. The plug and play harness and brand new OEM parts puts this package deal well over $2000!
I'm losing money, but really have no use for it now. it just sits on the engine stand as you see it. Don't kick yourself later about missing out on this. karate_crimson06-11-2011, 02:47 AMAlso interested in a B18 engine with harness and ECU, either a complete changeover swap into a early 90's civic (plug and play harness), or if not that's fine (cash on top). njccmd200206-11-2011, 05:27 PMi paid 1750 for mine with free shippping, came with ecu, vvti, tranny and axles included, just did the wiring myself..

BEams are selling cheaper now a days.. be patient, or be prepared to get less money

its a good price considering the plug and play harness, but then again some people like to do it themselves, plus its missing a couple of parts..

be patient. karate_crimson06-11-2011, 06:14 PMThat's good to know. Sure you may like to do your own wiring, but a lot of people do not. And paying for the service after purchasing the motor will put you well over $2000. I'm patient, this motor has been sitting in a garage for over half a year and it's time for it to go.

I am open to offers, and the worst I can say is no. l0ch0w06-13-2011, 10:08 AMWould you entertain offers for parting it out? I know alot of the turbo guys like alot of the parts off this motor... like the block, oil pans, oil pump etc. I particularly would like the lower timing belt cover and timing side motor mount...:D karate_crimson06-13-2011, 11:44 AMHello there,

If I were to consider parting out, it would not be for another few weeks and I would need quite a few buyers for the substantial parts. Bradmr206-17-2011, 08:20 AMwilling to ship it too md? karate_crimson06-17-2011, 09:06 AMYes, shipping is an option, of course at your expense. I will send you an IM and we can discuss things there. karate_crimson06-20-2011, 10:33 AMBump! Price drop to $1750 firm. mosdef07-20-2011, 06:08 PMwhen you sat its wired for an mk2, is it for the manual or automatic? tangaraybeams08-25-2011, 09:10 PMu stilll have the harness illl get it from u for 4 plus the shiping if u can go lower it would help out lots
