TaylorMade05-23-2011, 10:53 PMMy rear visor was severely sun baked and cracked. I found a mint replacement so I decided to play around with the old one. What do you think?

15643 SilverFire05-23-2011, 11:11 PMDid you paint that or is it a decal? Either way it looks really good quality!

On a taste note, I wouldn't put something like that on my car. It's a little too 'smack you in the face' for me, but I can see a lot of other people liking it. It certainly cleans it up. scottohno05-23-2011, 11:21 PMi like this a lot. muffinman05-23-2011, 11:40 PMgreat job.

I couldn't see it on my car but the quality of the work is very good. :D dragraceman2105-24-2011, 06:24 AMLMAO at muff, are you picking on scott? TaylorMade05-24-2011, 06:30 AMDid you paint that or is it a decal? Either way it looks really good quality!

It's 4 coats of black paint, 2 clear then a TRD Tundra bed decal. Not sure about running on mine either. I'll put it on and see. Just a project. muffinman05-24-2011, 08:32 AMLMAO at muff, are you picking on scott?

Not really.;)

I think it would just be enjoyable for US to have scott go on a much needed vacation. scottohno05-24-2011, 11:33 AMIt's 4 coats of black paint, 2 clear then a TRD Tundra bed decal. Not sure about running on mine either. I'll put it on and see. Just a project.
i might see about a trade...... mine looks pretty good IIRC.

 well i do kinda need a vacation from OT..... BlackWidowMR205-24-2011, 10:45 PMWow. That looks really good. Great job. What are the odds of you making some more of those to sell? Lol scottohno05-24-2011, 10:56 PMWow. That looks really good. Great job. What are the odds of you making some more of those to sell? Lol

my thoughts exactly. it looks great. TaylorMade05-24-2011, 11:46 PMTrouble would be getting old visors to make them from. scottohno05-25-2011, 12:28 AMtrue... junkyards are pretty well picked over usually Iroke05-30-2011, 02:39 PMThat is bad ass

Sent from my Dell Streak TaylorMade05-30-2011, 11:36 PMFinally got around to putting it on today. Initially I thought like SilverFire, that it might be too much. But once I got it on I really liked it. Also my C-pillar trim was dry, faded and cracked in several spots so I wrapped it in 3-M carbon fiber vinyl. Here's the end result. What's your honest opinions?

15678 Maruki-kun05-30-2011, 11:38 PMlooks too shiny, you gotta buff the rest of the car to make it fit, not sure about the carbon. mr.asian.m205-30-2011, 11:54 PMi like it. scottohno05-31-2011, 12:16 AMit would look better if your C-pillar trim was the stock plastic IMO supraguy@aol06-07-2011, 09:45 AMI actually really like it.
Now that it's installed, it looks pretty damn good. muffinman06-07-2011, 10:17 AMI actually really like it.

+1 batosai06-07-2011, 04:31 PMMaybe have the colors to match the car..in your case red...you might have a marketable product there...great job... mr306-07-2011, 05:57 PMBring the paint back to life and it'll look 10x better. Good work though. SilverFire06-07-2011, 07:37 PMFinally got around to putting it on today. Initially I thought like SilverFire, that it might be too much. But once I got it on I really liked it. Still a bit much for me to put on my car, but I have to admit it looks really good. I think I might have to do the vinyl on my c-pillars though. It looks REALLY good. scottohno06-07-2011, 09:22 PMthats vinyl? i missed that comment. kudos on the job. i would never have that kinda patience.

i still like it. i think it would look good on a red or black car, but not on my blue one. :( lemontit07-06-2011, 10:38 PMI actually really like it.

+1

I like the vinyl on the C-pillars, its a nice touch, I think there are going to be people looking to buy them. Maybe not a lot, cause custom always has a smaller market. mr2tim07-07-2011, 08:49 PMI like your sunvisor better than mine. More colorful.

(NOT for sale)

I had planned to do the carbon fiber wrap on my C-pillar trim. Seeing yours give me more confidence in how it would look. Good work:thumbup: mr2tim07-15-2011, 02:33 PMI was set to make up afew some years back when I first made the scoops but have given away the parts to guys that wanted to DIY.

Those "scoops" came from a Toyota Pickup, they are the 3rd brake lights atop the cab.

Here's a sunvisor from a Buick SUV. With brake light.

Sent from my Dell Streak scottohno07-16-2011, 03:39 PMfull louvers would be fine, but that looks bad IMO. then again i like to see when i back up so...... im prolly not going to opt for that idea.

i really wish someone could mass produce the ones that the guy came up with in the beginning of the thread. i like that style a lot. sykoracer07-18-2011, 06:38 AM, victor1907-18-2011, 09:50 AMYes on a track car
No on a dd

Great work! mr2tim11-11-2011, 08:43 AMHey Taylor as we discussed I setup the rear sunvisor scoops teeing off with your idea. Looks a little more finished off:

I love it, awesome job! supraguy@aol11-18-2011, 08:23 PMWhy does one scoop have screws through it, and the other doesn't? brankerman11-22-2011, 01:53 PMWhy does one scoop have screws through it, and the other doesn't?

I was thinking the same thing!! will2303612-15-2011, 12:44 PMi like it..... where u get the stuff from too bad my mr2 is missing THE WHOLE FREAKING TRIM 87MR24RX12-15-2011, 08:22 PMI like the visor AND the pillars! Just bought mine 2 weeks ago to play with in the Spring, so I can go "over the top" if I feel like it. Hmm Xmas vacation coming soon, and plenty of spray paint/carbon fiber vinyl laying around... ;) esreveRBackwards12-16-2011, 12:07 PMSource where you got the carbon C-pillar trim ?

MY C PILLAR TRIM IS UGLY... FADED.. And I have little bitty pieces chipped off it...

This carbon vinyl woul do the trick!!

What store u buy the vinyl from??? I don't feel like ordering it.. drye12-23-2011, 06:42 PMJUST FINISHED:) crcolton12-24-2011, 01:37 AM+1 to the carbon vinyl

Did you break any of mounting hardware when you took off the c-pillar trim? what about the rubber seals?

I plan on doing this, but I am going to wait until I get the car painted drye12-24-2011, 02:00 AMHa funny question.. Because I just ordered this set from a dude... 30$

Every single bolt to these plastics were broken off, and the screw caps on the inside of each side arm were also... They are all in barely with epoxy:/

I so far have took the set off twice without breaking any bolts off:)

Just really be careful taking the center trim.. Off it can possibly catch the thread and break...

But my canter piece came in half so worste comes to worste epoxy will really fix any cracks or chunks breaking off

IF I WERE YOU, leave the seals on the trim.. This plastic is so dry toyed that taking it off caused it to chip the edges so bad and ugly which led me to do this aaron712-29-2011, 04:30 PMLooks awesome! I painted my visor black too. Went with matte but I think I'm going to repaint the trim in gloss. scottohno12-30-2011, 06:47 PMlooking pretty good. maybe a cheap alternative for me, rather than buying the actual CF for my car......

i love the ingenuity in these threads. keep exploring and experimenting, and we will overcome our handicap-lack of aftermarket support. Metaleckz01-03-2012, 03:30 AMhey, how do you put the rear visor on? cuz i found one at the junkyard for 5.99
and i kinna messed up a little cuz i forced remove it hahah aaron701-03-2012, 08:03 AMIt's held on by (5?) 8mm nuts from the inside. You have to remove the metal trim piece that's under the dome light to get to them. drye02-02-2012, 09:31 AMwhat if u stucka couple led lights that connect to youre break system so that ur rear visor lights up..

it would look like how the exit signs look like in buildings.. it will have like a red glow to it,, :) drye02-02-2012, 09:43 AMLED Reading Pad (http://www.instructables.com/id/LED-Reading-Pad-1/) scottohno02-02-2012, 01:20 PMwhat if u stucka couple led lights that connect to youre break system so that ur rear visor lights up..

OR the LED striping they put on the bottom of tailgates of pickup trucks. drye02-02-2012, 02:05 PMyeah but i dont want it to look ricey/mexican..

i just want it to all glow, and try to avoid seeing actuall led bulbs Iroke02-05-2012, 03:11 AMBOOM!!!
