View Full Version : To wing or not to wing a widebody?

Tjzsin4given03-22-2011, 02:12 PM(Note poll says 94 wing but i mean 98 wing)Is the TRD widebody kit better with the TRD wing, 94 oem wing, wingless or other?

It pretty much looks great either way. I would personally like to know what is preferred by the people!

http://widebodymr2.com/images/Vacation-52-673x503.jpg white_mr203-22-2011, 02:30 PMI think it looks good with any wing. Bmer8903-22-2011, 02:32 PMWing > wingless 92_mister_two03-22-2011, 05:10 PMId personally go for the wingless look it looks sick

Oh and btw i thought that was the 98 oem wing

Isnt this the 94 oem wing?http://184.72.239.143/mu/a6cd0b07-1e0b-0144.jpg Tjzsin4given03-22-2011, 05:46 PMYes it is a 98 wing! I told my lil cousin that when he was writing it but for some reason it remains! ;-) RePete03-22-2011, 06:59 PMI think a wingless widebody looks classier than with any wing. There's already a lot of body work to begin with, another piece just adds clutter and looks too boyracer-ish. RePete03-22-2011, 07:02 PMBTW, using these Mustang Cobra R wheels is an excellent idea for show, I shoulda thought of that !

http://widebodymr2.com/images/Vacation-52-673x503.jpg Oteck03-22-2011, 07:07 PMid love to see a wb with a 94 wing Tjzsin4given03-22-2011, 07:13 PMI think the 94 would be too small but a Kaminari wing would look better if you Want the oem look to go with the wide body Chris41103-24-2011, 11:31 AMon the fence between the 98 wing and no wing depends on how aggressive it all looks luckily I am about a million miles from this choice Butters03-24-2011, 12:08 PMno wing all the way Heytheremr203-24-2011, 02:34 PMI like the trd wing for the WB but after seeing a 98 wing on a WB, I'm stuck between those. I only like the trd wing with the kit tho. WidebodyMr203-25-2011, 08:47 AMI just took mine off... Seems to get alot more complements. Tjzsin4given03-25-2011, 01:32 PMIt's starting to look like no wing is the way to Go! Oteck03-25-2011, 05:44 PMI find the 94 would be a better match, it sits low and would flow with the fender than something that perks out like horns Tjzsin4given03-25-2011, 05:50 PMI find the 94 would be a better match, it sits low and would flow with the fender than something that perks out like horns

94' wing or the 98' wing???
We need a pic of a 94' wing on a widebody! Oteck03-25-2011, 05:52 PM94 wing doesn't perk out like horns (98 and trd) so i am talking the real deal 94. there was a picture of one but that was years ago and was nice SW20MR203-25-2011, 06:22 PMtrd wing :D nocashrider03-26-2011, 02:51 AMdear god do not even think of gettin an erector set wing mr303-26-2011, 09:18 AMWingless + big scoopy engine lid looks good. Wingless looks good as does the TRD wing. 98 wing is too small for the wide body 94 is too curvy. Maybe buy a second trunk lid for wingless and one with TRD wing. You should be able to find the widebody trunk panel from a supplier. PHOENIX05-20-2011, 02:00 AMtest Ehrgeiz05-20-2011, 10:25 AMI think wingless looks the best on a widebody SW20! mr2v63vz05-20-2011, 12:27 PMDef trd wing , wingless you kinda loose the lines of the widebody IMO white_mr205-20-2011, 01:56 PMDef trd wing , wingless you kinda loose the lines of the widebody IMO

Agreed! phzoinkMKII05-21-2011, 01:32 AMHow come there isn't an option for the 98-99 wing? I like the way that looks on a widebody better than anything else. mkIIsw2105-23-2011, 02:17 PMI like the Invader style wing on my widebody. I don't think i've seen any others like it.... goopi10-28-2011, 02:36 AMPhotoshop to help you choose what you want, if you have not decided yet. ju5tchi11in11-05-2011, 06:35 PMI have the TRD replica widebody kit. The one without the partition in the side scoops. Wingless. BeRoyal11-12-2011, 09:12 PMHonestly despite what a lot of people think, i think low gt wings IF DONE RIGHT looks best. But like I said IF DONE RIGHT! I hate those people out there with some nonsense ricer wing that basically just looks bolted on and doesn't go with the flow of the car whatsoever. One thing I really noticed is that there really isnt a best wing. I comes a lot down to the look of the car from what kit you have on etc. Well anyway here is the pic of a mr2 of a guy on the forum here with a custom carbon fiber wing keeping it nice but low profile at the same time. In my opinion this wings executed PERFECTLY :D BeRoyal11-12-2011, 09:15 PMOh and also theres already a huge thread up with what wings look best which I really think would help! http://mr2.zhutiblog.com/com/forums/show-off/Toyota-MR2-17729-best-wing-mk2-mr2.html Jesse01020311-13-2011, 12:11 AMVoltex wing even with the roof would look awesome. serjey1511-15-2011, 03:09 AM91-93 wing FTW!
