GatorNutz04-20-2011, 12:49 PMYea, i wouldn't call Sherpagoodness's car dumb looking and i would have to say it is most likely in the top 5% of MR2's out there as far as overall extra clean and very nice paint. Most MR2's show their age by now and their are only a small percent that actually get a good paint job and have nice interior/engine bays..

well if there were alot of SW20 owners that were hell bent on keeping their cars in near showroom shape, then why is it that the only ones i see look like it-sha or have the same old paint with a dookie carbon fibre hood (that doesn't fit correctly) and/or a big azz ugly metal/carbon six foot wing hanging off the back of it..cuz thats mostly what i see, except i guess your car, which is notably the worlds greatest MR2..hehe... relax and take your panties out of your crack, i'm just busting your ballz. Hell, everyones MR2 is better than mine. Mine is STILL at the paintshop, this week will end the 6th week and start on the 7th week there. And don't worry, when its finally done i'll post some pics so you can make fun of it's two tone Red/Blk. If I were doing I'd try and stick with the same lines as the OEM's and use a light metal flake black paint. Below is a pic of my 96NA which is one of the few two-tones produced which also included the T-tops.

Ok, when you say one of the few two tones produced, do you mean they made some of them two tone from the factory?

I don't think they came with stripes, but that guy said that the '96 NA came with a two tone paint scheme.. I was just trying to confirm if they indeed came with a two tone from the factory.. I didn't even know that scheme came factory in any market.

I plan to paint mine two tone, black top/ crimson red ( or a close enough color match). Stock body mostly with the exception of aeroware style side vents (I'll most likely do the mod), holy lip and kimanari spoiler.

I haven't even seen what something like this would look like but the line thing doesn't do it for me. The MK1 is a very straigh line type of car so it pulls it off. The MK2 has curves so the line thing looks off to me. I can't seem to find pics of it but i would want something like a black to a deep green or blue that fades going up. Then the two tone dropped off in 2000ish, and now it's back again. IMO one color on our cars is timeless and is my preference. Out of your choices, I prefer white with a black top. Red on Red, white on white or black on black. The only cars that two tone paint jobs belong on are 57 Chevy's, 50's Fords and the like. Its your car and you can do what you want but every time I see Chip Foose do a two tone paint job on a muscle car or when I see something like an MR2 with two tone paint I think, this is going to date the car and in five years you will look at it and say " yep, that looks like something from the 90's" Kind of like lace paint looks 70's or massive pin stripping. My brother picked up scion frs hot lava really nice color im considering it as well as i just finished engine build and just now starting to get the car ready for paint
