no how much are the oem parts that i took off worth? i just bought an mr2 and dont know how much the stock bumpers and stock sides and stock taillights are worth because i was planning on maybe selling them. Oteck03-03-2011, 11:04 PMfor a black oem w/o lip id say 180, vents 40, rear bumper 60.....

how well the fitment on the front bumper? does the corner light fit right? where did you get them? racer18181803-03-2011, 11:14 PMits a toms fiberglass replica... everything fits great NOW but the front sucked.. took me n my buddy like 12 hours to get the front bumper on. but it only took like 2 1/2 for us to finish after that lol. but all that said i would rather pay $400 and struggle with the fittment alittle and take along time then pay alot more for it to bolt right up. but if u saw it in person it looks real just took awhile to get it there. mr2v63vz03-14-2011, 12:51 AMwhered you get that for 400 ??? i want one seeoooo bad 328FTW03-14-2011, 01:03 AMThe kits are $500 here, I was tempted but eh. Just doing the bumper cause my OEM one is smashed up. So much bodywork to make it line up and fit. I've put half an inch of mat and glass on in points and that is just the bumper. Looks good though so whatever another couple days and I'll be done. z Ice Dragon z03-14-2011, 01:08 AMget a real camera and take some pictures. your phone is poop. looks good from what i can see. How can one tell if you have an authentic Tom's kit or not?

I have been told that the one's on mine are authentic:

But how can you tell? What are the differences between the authentic versus copies? Madlife03-15-2011, 09:27 AMCurious as to why you got all fiberglass? I need a new toms rear because mine is badly cracked and was thinking about going with urethane instead. dubmr203-15-2011, 09:54 AMcause there like twice the price

from what I remember from when I was getting mine ~ 3years ago, you could get an entire fibreglass kit for the price of a urethane bumper, and for some reason the only urethane parts anyone really carried was the border front bumper Lee-8ballauto03-15-2011, 06:46 PMThe genuine parts have the toms logo stamped on the back of them under the fibreglass canadam03-15-2011, 08:01 PMHow can one tell if you have an authentic Tom's kit or not?

The reason yours looks authentic to me is because the fins at the front of the skirt are there and look correct. It could be a really good replica, but all you have to do is peek underneath and see if the Tom's tags are FG'd in. Then again, if it is a really good replica, they might have faked that too. I've never seen fakes that good, though. Oteck03-15-2011, 08:06 PMnot from experience but i notice lots of tom's replica has that bluge right under the intake vent molding dubmr203-16-2011, 10:38 AMMy kit is a replica and it came with the fins, I just chose not to install them.

The bulge under the trim above the side vent is a common problem with the replicas, guy who installed mine did a pretty good job of fixing it though.

Good info dubmr2. dubmr203-17-2011, 12:25 PMAlso, probably the real ones have the small second vent at the bottom of the skirt cut out, all the replicas Ive seen do not MSAGRO03-17-2011, 12:54 PMI guess mine are authentic then. When I first joined this forum last year, the first PM I got was from a guy wanting to buy my Tom's sideskirts and rear bumper.

That was me assuming they were real - I could have been wrong.

Checking for the fiberglassed in Tom's name tags is your best bet. MSAGRO03-17-2011, 08:18 PMWell, it looks like the mystery of if mine are authentic or not will remain.

I'm not tearing apart my kit to see if their real or not. canadam03-21-2011, 08:44 PMhaha, should be easy to see from under the car on the skirts. racer18181803-26-2011, 01:33 AMAlso, probably the real ones have the small second vent at the bottom of the skirt cut out, all the replicas Ive seen do not

mine is a replica and it has the small vent on the bottom... dubmr203-26-2011, 11:54 AMdid it come from the manufacturer with the vent cut out, or did you cut it out? racer18181803-31-2011, 11:28 PMit came cut out...
