View Full Version : Border Front Bumper?

tumblingtwerp902-16-2011, 10:45 PMWhere is a good place to buy a border front bumper? From what i've read the only ones available are replicas so who makes the best replica in your opinion? Or if you have one for sale I might be interested in getting it.

Thanks mechanicdave02-17-2011, 05:19 PMAll the replicas Iv come across all look like s#*! around the top of the nose area. Lots of waves so they'll need filler along that spot to look decent. The rest of the replica Border bumper looks decent. Fit isn't going to be all that great (especially around the fenders) but with some work (as with almost all aftermarket body parts) can be made to look good.

So best place to get one would be who ever has it for the cheapest. Where are you located? Hit up some MR2 members in your area that have the bumper or try to go to a place that has the bumper for sale so you can see before you buy.

David arber021402-17-2011, 06:25 PMWhere were you when i posted mine here for free? I ended up throwing it out. If you will get one make sure is polyurethane, stay away from fiber glass ( like mine). Unfortunately i got mine from andy's auto sport, and they are just bad news. I had to fight with them for about 3 weeks until i got what i paid for. tumblingtwerp902-17-2011, 08:43 PMWhere were you when i posted mine here for free? I ended up throwing it out. probably didnt even have the car yet haha I just got it about 3 weeks ago. Why do you say to get poly or fiberglass? arber021402-18-2011, 12:09 PMprobably didnt even have the car yet haha I just got it about 3 weeks ago. Why do you say to get poly or fiberglass?

Fiberglass is a pain to install, never fits right and if you hit a curb or sidewalk it will just crack into pieces. It will also cost more to install and prep.
It is worth paying the extra 200-300 dollars for the polyurethane, or you would have to pay someone 10-15 hrs extra to make the fiberglass one fit good. tumblingtwerp902-19-2011, 10:05 PMso are you guys saying I should just stay with the oem bumper and put a lip on it??? Im wanting to do greddy sides and I think a oem front bumper wouldn't look right with them? any opinions? Tphan02-20-2011, 04:58 PMI'd just stay with the oem bumper and slap and 3rd gen lip. Looks nice with the greddy side skirts Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
