Benckj01-13-2011, 03:56 PMMy brother works for PPG develpment and I may be able to get some auto paint at a heavely reduced price. Looking at color choice I would like to stick with my Super White but go with something which is metalic and a bit more refereshing like Pearl White.

Can someone who knows the auto color charts advise on the best product to use and color reference?

Jimb SW20MR201-13-2011, 05:26 PMA pretty cool color would be a moon pearl, i saw it on the lotus site back when they had the car builder(3 years ago:undecided).

Its a white car, but it color shifts between blue, gold, pink, green etc.......And its a very subtle change to the point where you can barely pick it up. But at a distance it gives a nice color shifting hue. I dont know the color code, but if you can get the white paint and toss a little bit of different color super fine pearls. Im pretty sure you can pull it off. Its a shame i cant find a pic to show you but this car was amazing. It shot the price up another 8k when i was building it. I don't really want to go exotic but think that the white paint needs something to enhance it like pearl metal flake. i've seen other cars with it but only on screen and not in person.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for cars around town with this color so I can see in daylight. That will give a fair idea on how it would look.

I do that. Pick several though cause I found I'd go in and it would be some factory 7 layer pearl or something. I'd shit bricks at the price quote to mix such a colour. I only looked at O'Reilly though, I don't know whose paint they use, or how good it is. I suggest you to get a moon pearl metallic color. I hope this color will suit your vehicle the most.

As for me im going pearl white too, when i paint mine in a couple of months, except im going with a blue pearl instead of a gold( Corvette color) and maybe some graphics too Forbes09-29-2012, 11:35 PMyou used the mettle that show great luster....
