como12-08-2010, 07:31 PMSo I've got myself a slick new compressor- 80 gallon tank, 5 HP 220v motor.
She can keep up at 15.5CFM@175psi- but not until I find a pulley.

Moving it into my basement, I managed to crack the cast aluminum pulley on the compressor. The manufacturer sells a replacement for $80, I found one for $40 elsewhere, but I'm hoping to save a little more if possible.

She takes a 1/2" wide v-belt, and its approximately a 14" across pulley with a 7/8" inner shaft.

Almost identical, but cast iron. I broke down and decided to order the $80 one from the company- but as it turns out that is the 6" motor side, solid metal one that can be had at any hardware store for less than $20. como12-14-2010, 08:20 PMWell, now I just need to rant.
The spec sheet lists this compressors shaft to be 7/8" in diameter.
Now that I've got a new 7/8" diameter pully in my hand, its time to take some measurements:
NEW pullys hole: .875" across
OLD pullys hole: .95" across
SHAFT: .94" across
simple math: 7/8=.859

So the old pully and shaft are considerably larger than the spec, and the new pully is considerably smaller than the spec.
