View Full Version : Phoenix got hit again.....

PHOENIX11-22-2010, 08:25 PMSwear to god my car attracts the retards of the retards.

I stopped off for lunch and parked my car on the street which I rarely do but the parking lot I usually park in was full. Don't know how she did it but she pulled into the parking lot, backed in onto the street once she figured out that it was full (there is only 4 spaces) and proceeded to back into the front passenger side corner of my car.

I'm about to get my lunch when all I hear is....."Oh man that lady just hit that....what is that? I don't know but she ****ed it up".

At that point I knew it was me as the Bartender...I mean server had this white face and then looked at me. She knew it was my car and what it means to me cause a few weeks back we got drunk ahhh never mind.

Anyway.....yeah.

So she is scheduled to be dropped off this Wednesday and hopefully get fixed. I already explained to her insurance company that junking it is not an option and I will settle for nothing less than getting it fixed and getting it fixed the right way and the cost is not my problem. He said okay.

They were pretty nice though so far and my insurance company is backing me up and said they don't settle for anything less than me being 100% happy.

Only problem I need to figure out is how to get it to Portland Wednesday (2 hour drive). The fender now rubs on the tire and conventional uhaul type trailers are a no go due to the height of my car.

will keep you guys updated. PHOENIX11-22-2010, 08:28 PMon a side note, my droid x takes really good pictures. **** you apple douchebags Jesse01020311-22-2010, 08:30 PMwow, that sucks. At least the insurance is covering it.
good luck with getting her fixed. scottohno11-22-2010, 08:32 PMDROID FTW!

anyhow, sorry bout the 2. why does it need to go to portland, and where are you normally.

when my cars done im going to have a fit if someone so much as leans on it. canadam11-22-2010, 08:49 PMWhy not just take the fender off? 328FTW11-22-2010, 08:51 PMHave a space saver? You might be able to gingerly drive back on that since it's skinny. Otherwise you might have to pry the fender out with a bat.

Edit, suddenly realised that fender is glassed on. not going nowhere PHOENIX11-22-2010, 08:56 PMshut up Adam

I am 2 hours west of Portland and although I can pick whatever body shop I can choose, I think it's best to go with one of theirs because they give a lifetime written warranty on the work and there isn't any of their certified shops here.

^ exactly scottohno11-22-2010, 09:05 PMtoilet plunger may pull it out enough to drive. canadam11-22-2010, 09:39 PMshut up Adam

:rofl: I crack myself up. :D:D STLMR2na11-22-2010, 10:27 PMatleast you didn't slap a curb at 50mph in the rain like i did lol Oteck11-22-2010, 10:48 PMwhat gives, she totally missed the rest of the body kit jk. i hate these stories RePete11-22-2010, 11:28 PMSorry to hear that, Dave. What a shit way to start the week.

But your droid definitely takes nice shots. :ugh: PHOENIX11-22-2010, 11:28 PMshut it you!

Anyway, the damage isn't that bad but I am sure they are going to flip a lid once they see the modifications to the body that I have done. Not to mention there is no way in hell they can color match it so they will most likely have to paint the whole car again which I am sure they will fight.

Still have to figure out a way to get it to Portland on wednesday. And to make things worse, it just started snowing which means I would be parking my car tonight for the winter.

bitch SVX9211-23-2010, 02:40 AMDude, if you plan on going to Portland best of luck. we had 7inches of snow tonight and more coming. A really nasty weather system is moving in right now.

We had many of our commercial trucks for Amazon get stuck in the Seattle area. I really do mean it, best of luck and be careful as shit. I would hate to see it getting completely demolished in some outrageous hwy accident. PHOENIX11-23-2010, 01:39 PMoh yeah!

There is snow here on the coast and it's a whopping 30 degrees today. SVX9211-23-2010, 02:26 PMsuppose to be -1 tonight....sad face arber021411-23-2010, 02:31 PMJust pull the fender out a bit, they wont say anything about it. Or you could have them tow it and pay for it, tell them the car is not drivable due to tire rub.
If they arent going to match the color good thing you are going at a place they recommended. This way you tell them that it is their fault for telling you to go there and they will have no choice but to paint the whole car. Pick the car up in a sunny day, look at the paint and also park the car the opposite way and look at it again. I didnt have a car for a month once due to the paint not matching, i dint pick it up until they painted the whole car. 328FTW11-23-2010, 04:07 PMIf they repaint the car ask for some paint to be put in a 1 litre tin and then cling film the shit out of it so no air gets near it. That way you can keep it spare for a couple years. Reach11-23-2010, 09:57 PMman that's sad. as least her insurance company is going to take care of the damage. fingers crossed on the paint job though ;) PHOENIX11-25-2010, 02:31 AMsnow snow snow

They didn't want to risk going over the pass so my car sits for the weekend. Blah. 328FTW11-25-2010, 07:56 AMsnow snow snow

This is why I dont but nice things to my exterior just motor upgrades b/c of this same reason thats happend to me time and time

but maybe its a good thing it happend and the day you needed to drive it you completly messed up
mr2 gods are watching over you man MSAGRO11-25-2010, 02:15 PMPhoenix, What shop are you taking her to?

Precision in Beaverton is a great place to go. PHOENIX11-25-2010, 03:26 PMdon't know yet, they won't make the pass with the tow truck with the roads the way they are which I am quite fine with. I'll find out next week whats going on with it. PHOENIX11-29-2010, 06:43 PMadjuster shows up to my house on Wednesday.

I already know whats going to happen. Car gets totalled, I buy back, and fix car.

But I have to have a car immediately which means she isn't going to get fixed till the summer because I will have to use the money to buy a car that is reliable. FML At least I know it will get fixed right plus I can fix the small things and get a few more things done like the engine :)

So when I say this summer I mean next winter cause that's honestly how it works out with projects. scottohno11-29-2010, 07:34 PMhaha yeah i bought my project last summer. never got time for it. i will though. RePete11-29-2010, 08:53 PM...I already know whats going to happen. Car gets totalled...Jeez, is it that bad? Does that mean no deuce for a year because of one accident? My God, I don't think I could go on...:( PHOENIX11-30-2010, 12:22 AMNo, but they will realize that they have to paint the whole thing and fiberglass in a new fender and front bumper. Any body shop will know it's gonna take more than 5k for all that work which means they will total it.

I can fix for a reasonable price but I don't necessarily have the time to put 2 straight weeks into it which wouldn't include the paint. toymdngn11-30-2010, 08:00 PMi feel for ya man, i got hit the other day in the 2 and the douche just took off. i was turning left onto a side road and there was somebody in a little older tundra sitting at the stop sign of the street i was turning onto, i turned in front of him and he got on the gas just a tad early and just nicked the rear corner of my MKI. i stopped, he just turned left going up the road i was coming from, and by the time i got turned around to give chase, there was just too much traffic going in either way. got home to look at it, figuring it would a little ding... nope, looks like my car got hit with a hardball, right on the body line too... 328FTW11-30-2010, 08:05 PM^ I'd of drove up the fu**ing footpath or some shit. Or stopped and got out and gone ballistic. running after or some shit. Someone reversed into my new paint about a week after I had my V6 done, I think I blew out a testicle that day cause I came back to it only haven driven the thing about 3 times and then fffffffuuuuuuu. Servin11-30-2010, 08:57 PMCamber that wheel in to drive it. PHOENIX11-30-2010, 09:00 PM^ I could, but I'm not driving a busted car. scottohno12-01-2010, 02:57 PM^you kinda are for now :ugh: PHOENIX12-01-2010, 03:55 PMI'm not driving it :) It's in the garage.

So the Adjuster is here, he is saying $2100 worth of damage :( And they said the body shop will be able to blend the paint (BS). So I am taking it to a body shop today and see if they can fix it for that. scottohno12-01-2010, 04:05 PMawesome.

i would get a big truck and run their car over. a rental is a good thing to use for this. Servin12-01-2010, 05:30 PM^ I could, but I'm not driving a busted car.

Your car is not busted, it runs and drives fine. Now the fender is a little buggered but not enough to make it undrivable. aler_ka12-02-2010, 07:24 AMlol samething happen to my, but i was out of luck, is a hit and run, car was park on the street fine for 2week, until thanksgiving day ...

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g194/aloha_travis/090.jpg 328FTW12-02-2010, 07:28 AM^ Thanksgiving + hit and run. I'd say drunk driver or some young teen who freaked cause they couldn't pay for it. Holidays bring out the best in people. scottohno12-03-2010, 01:39 PMthat looks like an oops, forward, reverse, oops again, and run

or an OFROR :D PHOENIX12-03-2010, 02:16 PMyeah that one is odd. PHOENIX12-05-2010, 07:54 PMOkay, final disposition for this little fender bender.

The car is not totaled and I have a check. I've decided to do it myself (again) so I know it gets done right. I am going to paint the entire car again so it will be a full sanding job, fender and bumper replacement, and I am not molding the front bumper on this time but I am going shave the side molding pieces out and have 1 small like and the bumper attached from the inside. This way I can still keep the shaved look and be able to take the front bumper off in case of accident/collision/children and fix it.

Estimated time to fixed: probably June. I am taking my time but I plan on spending at least 1 day a week for 5-6 hours.

Build thread coming soon once I get the parts. RePete12-05-2010, 08:34 PMAmazing the amount of work that piles on from one stupid hit. The build thread should be pretty cool, looking forward to it.
