View Full Version : Leaking T-Tops :(

prophet51311-11-2010, 09:54 AMI have called Maaco, a place called BFC, another local body shop, A car top shop, an auto glass shop, and even the Toyota Dealership and none of them can fix my t-top problem! They all just say "Call a body shop."

Does anybody know of a popular auto chain who may be able to fix this problem?
It just kills me to see my poor car in the rain with nowhere to go. mr311-11-2010, 09:58 AMAre you surprised that they leak? Buy all new seals, eccentric guides, align your window so it seals properly and make sure the drain tubes are clear. In the end it should leak less. my dad used to have the same issue in my 2. he saw something about useing vaseline on the seals, tried it and bam havent leaked since. its at least worth a try right? prophet51311-11-2010, 10:14 AMHow long does the vaseline last? ArashiShozen11-11-2010, 10:19 AMHow long does the vaseline last?

My dad did it when he got the car... about ten years ago, and now im driving it, and still hasnt leaked any. So.. honestly i dont know, but its been lasting a while for me. prophet51311-11-2010, 10:34 AMHave you taken them off since?

I know some idiot that sold me the car from the dealership used krazy glue to try and seal the leak so I'd have to run a razor through if I wanted to take them off anyway. ArashiShozen11-12-2010, 10:45 PMHave you taken them off since?

oh yea. when i got the car in july, it had no AC so everyday i took them off. until about the end of August, and even then i took them off every now and again.** when the weather wasnt 90+ degrees...)) and still no leaks. MSAGRO11-13-2010, 01:18 PMTry this thread:

Would this do the same thing? Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
