thakiller00911-10-2010, 02:39 PMi have the td3000 wide bodykit for my 1991 mr2 is it a direct bolt on or will i have custom fit it on need to know fast plz and thank you. Oteck11-10-2010, 02:54 PMnever heard of it, if it's anything like all the trd wb replica kit they fit like crap thakiller00911-10-2010, 03:04 PMcause i bought a mr2 and the guy gave this to me SDub2011-10-2010, 03:17 PMThis is likely what he is talking about.

91-95 Toyota MR2 TD3000 Widebody kits (http://www.ilovebodykits.com/product/9445/91_95_Toyota_MR2_TD3000_Widebody_kits.html)

It is flexible but I'm sure it will look like crap unless it is shimmed to fit well, meaning there is some work behind it. Also it "should" be a direct bolt on. I have a similar front end WB kit and it matched most bolt locations, some had to be drilled. I ended up not liking it so I removed it. Stock is better. thakiller00911-10-2010, 03:22 PMwhen u say shimmed u mean like u hve to kinda custom fit it on and use some fiberglass SDub2011-10-2010, 04:16 PMPretty much. For example if the bumper is not flush in heighth with the fender then you may have to put some backing material on to raise it so that it is flush. You can also fiberglass the seams to make it look like 1 whole piece. If you do a crappy job though it will crack from road vibrations. thakiller00911-10-2010, 05:13 PMoka well ill have a shop or someone do it thats good and wont make it look like shit white_mr211-10-2010, 05:39 PMA body shop is going to charge a fortune. I looked in to this kit 10yr ago. SDub2011-10-2010, 05:40 PMIt can get pretty expensive to have a shop do it. I had read somewhere it is roughly $100-$300 per piece depending on how much fitment work is needed. I can't verify that source at the moment. thakiller00911-10-2010, 05:52 PMwell i know my friends dad can do some fiberglass work ill get him to help out or something if not ill sel the kit and just ge a different one. z Ice Dragon z11-10-2010, 06:07 PMOr you could just send it to me. I'll test it on mine and let you know how it fits. :D white_mr211-10-2010, 06:23 PMROR! white_mr211-10-2010, 06:25 PMOr you could try to make me an offer. http://tapa.tk/mu/aefc57a3-29ca-4086.jpg
That's not going to happen though. thakiller00911-10-2010, 06:39 PMdam thats nice and is it even worth putting the wide body kit on z Ice Dragon z11-10-2010, 06:45 PMDon't take it to a shop if you do put it on. You'll find that it's more worth it to do it yourself and it be crappy. Then it is to have someone else do it and have it crappy. Atleast if it is crappy when you do it, you can fix it. If you let someone else do it and it sucks, then you get pissed, and don't want anything to do with it.

Self satisfaction is amazing. white_mr211-10-2010, 06:46 PMWell that's up to you. I had a Mr2 12 years ago and want the WB kit bad. Then I got married and long story short now that I'm divorced I Can do what I want. Oteck11-10-2010, 06:48 PMDon't take it to a shop if you do put it on. so the bottom line is would you want a crappy kitted mr2 for less or more monies. z Ice Dragon z11-10-2010, 07:23 PMso the bottom line is would you want a crappy kitted mr2 for less or more monies.

LOL! Yes.

But if you take your time with it, it's hard to have a crappy one, forgot to mention that. If you take your time, and don't rush, you'll be fine. Oteck11-10-2010, 08:56 PMlol a local here tried to do his wb by himself with so-so FG skills, took him years till he decided it sucked and scrapped the car. looked horribled so even with time you need skills to back to make it worth it Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc.
