View Full Version : Body damage

ArashiShozen08-18-2010, 08:51 PMMy 1991 Mr2 has some kinda bad body damage. The driver side front fender has a semi big dent from where a guy hit it before i bought. Nothing Serious, just a dent, no internal damage, though ugly to look at. Also my car has some hail damage, due to only have one area to put in the car and my family has three cars so guess whose got left out? Anyways, what do yall suggest I do to get it fixed? Is there a way to do it myself, or a cheap way? Gairloch08-18-2010, 10:24 PMYou're going to have to get on the phone and start calling body shops. It's not going to be cheap. If you know of someone in the auto industry in the area you might want to start wit them and get a referral or two. PHOENIX08-19-2010, 01:38 AMTry to find a replacement panel here on the board. Should be pretty cheap.

The hail damage is difficult, you need to basically take it to a specialist if it's even possible at all to fix other than a full paint job. RePete08-19-2010, 02:01 AMYeah, hail damage ain't cheap to fix. I know it cost $300 just to fix an extra long, deep key scratch on the driver's door of my old '89 SC. beachbum08-19-2010, 11:00 PMYeah I work in a bodyshop and honestly our work doesn't go cheap. Have you ever checked into pdr(paintless dent removal) my future father in law does it for a living. He works with dent wizard and he is able to pop the dent's with out paint damage. I don't know how much prices run for pdr I believe they charge by the dent. but that can only be done as long as the dent doess't have a crease in it. ArashiShozen08-22-2010, 07:05 PMI know this is going to sound sad, but im not really sure if it has a crease in it, all i know is its a big freaking dent. looking area. I wonder if where im at, has any PDR places around beachbum08-22-2010, 08:06 PMumm I don't know I'm in eastern NC. I know they are all over the place cause the guy I know that does it his bro also works with them in texas. If you go to DentWizard.com : Welcome (http://www.dentwizard.com) you can type in your zip and info and can locate dent wizard pdr repair locations for you. I picked TN and checked on it and there was pages of locations. I hope this can help out. ArashiShozen08-22-2010, 10:59 PMumm I don't know I'm in eastern NC. Yea man that helped out alot. There is one in the closest city next to me. ill have to check it out and compare prices. Thanks:) beachbum08-22-2010, 11:06 PMno problem. let me know how it goes and if it works out. I've never talked to the guy I know about their prices. So I don't know how much it is, but I do know its by the number of dents they fix. but if they are able to help you out at least there won't be bodyfiller/bondo in there. Ok Will do. If you ever do talk about prices or anything, let me know, it might be a while before i can get up there. First things first, i got to get the car running and going right. Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
