Oteck05-31-2010, 01:56 AManyone have experience removing the glass off mk2 factory fog lamps? PHOENIX05-31-2010, 02:24 AMI have tried and failed.

From what I understand, I remember reading a long time ago that someone was able to do it by putting it in the oven and slowly raising the temperature until the glue around the lense became melted enough to pull it off, and you had to do it fast because its also clipped in.

Then you have to find some glue that will seal it and withstand the generous amount of heat the lamps put off.

I tried....

....and failed Oteck05-31-2010, 01:39 PMI may have better luck, im trying to get some glass off some borked fog lamps in hope of jamming projector fog lamps inside them. my evil plans consist of making lexan or acrylic covers to replace it with. if lucky i can do it to motorized ones hehe Idiot Stick07-12-2010, 11:39 AMBump!

Haha, I have those ultra cool JDM ones that turn with the wheel, and the little yellow cover that the bulb sits in broke off and is rolling around inside the foglight. I tried to take the clips off and pry the glass out (Thinking it was being held on by those little clips...LOL!), and failed.

If you figured out another way that would be mint! Right now I have one yellow and one white fog light, and whats better is Ive got this yellow thing rolling around the bottom of the white one! haha

EDIT: I managed to get rid of the yellow pieces from both lights, by removing the piece that the bulb gets held on. But now I am still curious as to how one would change the glass on their foglights if it got damaged from a rock or something.
