View Full Version : greddy lip or aeroware?

Butters04-19-2010, 09:28 PMwell my duece is in the middle of a repaint and rebuild and turbo swap.. im about to prime the car this week and color should be g oing on shortly thereafter.

i DONT want a stock lip. ive been aiming at a greddy lip for a long time now i just worry that its a tad to big, i was wondering how the aeroware lip compares.. and which does everyone prefer and why?

thanks in advance JDMRII9104-19-2010, 09:41 PMGet the CRUX lip : )

I'd go Aeroware mainly because you can get away without side skirts if you want.

Aeroware
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i2/jeffreyduckworth/AerowareSpoiler052.jpg mr304-19-2010, 10:00 PMI wanted the GReddy kit for a while but then I decided against it. I just thought about how bad it would crack when I start driving and how pointless it would be to be repairing it from daily driving. On that note, I went with the Holy lip. I felt it was a little bit more aggressive than the 94 but not extreme and too low. I'll get pics as soon as I get it and then get it on. ShackC04-19-2010, 10:59 PMAeroware is probably cheaper too, but if running the whole kit greddy is super fine. holymr204-20-2010, 02:31 PMI wanted the GReddy kit for a while but then I decided against it. +1 on the holy lip. New pics posted today plus the many more through out the thread. http://mr2.zhutiblog.com/com/forums/mk-2-parts-fs/Toyota-MR2-44962-stout-lip-replica-feeler-thread-7.html#post557782

Otherwise I vote aeroware. mr304-20-2010, 05:28 PMJust got my Holy lip in tonight. I'm going out so I wont be able to install it till tomorrow or friday. It looks amazing though and it should complete the body unless I decide on skirts later on down the road. Butters04-20-2010, 05:33 PMthanks everyone for the opinions... i should have mentioned i have toms side skirts that are going on the car as well..

myself im leaning more towards the aeroware holymr204-21-2010, 01:40 PMJust got my Holy lip in tonight. I'm going out so I wont be able to install it till tomorrow or friday. It looks amazing though and it should complete the body unless I decide on skirts later on down the road.

You bought a lip from me? Was it under another handle on another board? mr304-21-2010, 02:28 PMI bought it off someone who bought it from you. He never mounted it and I got it for a great deal. Jon3sgte04-21-2010, 03:06 PMIf i remember correctly the aeroware lip isnt poly. Might want to take that into consideration. You would have to mess up the greddy lip pretty bad to get it to crack. poopeeroo04-21-2010, 03:43 PMIf i remember correctly the aeroware lip isnt poly.

authentic aeroware are fiberglass. but those are impossible to find now adays.

replicas like shine are made from hybrid frp. best replica imo! Bak@EMSPowered04-21-2010, 04:10 PMHoly Lip all the way!!!

Mitsu's lip?

Looks great mr304-21-2010, 05:30 PMYeah, that was his. I was putting it on before rain sprits. I thought it turned out great. cloak04-21-2010, 06:44 PMgreddy lip looks like **** holymr204-22-2010, 12:45 PMYeah, that was his. I was putting it on before rain sprits. I thought it turned out great.

Yeah that was a crazy price. I almost bought it back. That lip sold in less than 12hrs. Thats crazy. Im glad you like the fittment looks great.

David Butters04-28-2010, 04:07 PMthanks for the opinions everyone..i ended up going with the shine auto aeroware replica it should be here this friday!

for the record i love the holy lip as well... the only real reason i went with the aeroware style was because it tucks back a little in front of the wheels where as the holy style just goes straight folloring the bumper line.. perosnally i liked the tucked back look

this (Aeroware) : http://img342.imageshack.us/img342/6448/aerowarelip1go3.jpg

as opposed to this (holy) : http://emspowered.com/images/products/holymr2/frontlip/mr2_holy_front_lip_11.jpg hmong33704-30-2010, 12:57 PMthe greddy lip is so damn ugly. i never liked the way it was shaped. i like a more agressive lip so it'd be a kamanari lip. but for a clean and subtle lip, go for either or, holy or aeroware. both look great. GENESIS01-11-2011, 05:03 PMgreddy lip nice but Aeroware is better for me... but both are not practical if you daily drive the car... mr2_fast4u01-12-2011, 02:16 AMbump......... Flashharry01-18-2011, 10:24 AMI run an Aeroware lip with Toms skirts and I reckon its quite a nice combination...

They look like harts to me. But im not 100% sure of the model #. holymr203-29-2011, 10:22 AMHey flash I like your setup but how about this front lip with your sides. Holy style baby. I got a couple in white too.

pretty sure they are advan 3 something

edit:advan SA3 right? necolorado03-29-2011, 11:01 AM^ darn, was looking at the wrong pics, you werent talking about the ones posted right before that :P oops phzoinkMKII04-22-2011, 03:55 AMThey look to be Works, not sure specifically which ones though. LeePeyton04-25-2011, 05:01 PMAm I the only one that thinks the Holy looks just like the Aeroware? holymr205-04-2011, 09:42 AMAm I the only one that thinks the Holy looks just like the Aeroware?

:D yep. Maybe you have to see them in person but yep..

David LeePeyton05-04-2011, 07:27 PMI mean the Holy lip looks like it has sharper edges and some subtle differences that make it look way more bad ass. Just saying design wise they look a lot a like. eRock05-04-2011, 08:31 PMHoly lip is the shizznit.

Eric GatorNutz05-10-2011, 10:22 AMGeddy all the way.. If not Greddy, then put on a 94+ stock lip.. you def want a lip that is Polyurethane, if not you will regret it the first time u scrape and crack those other fiberglass pieces.. Trust Me, I know.. Namerif05-10-2011, 02:03 PMDen621 I love that green cars setup has a nice drop the the green with red don't look bad either...what side skirts are those? den62106-09-2011, 08:48 PMDen621 I love that green cars setup has a nice drop the the green with red don't look bad either...what side skirts are those?

Thanks, they're greddy one_of_a_kind11-08-2011, 04:34 PMAeroware, because you can pull it off without the side skirts or rear addons, but if you want a full lip kit, i like the greddy ones unkoboy09-28-2012, 11:34 PMSo wait, what's the deal with the different materials? Which materials tend to be more durable? Butters09-29-2012, 08:14 PMFiberglass is just that... Rigid fiberglass and will break.... I ended up going with aero ware and I don't regret it but I have broken 2 of them hitting stuff

Poly lips are basically the same plastic the bumper is made of and is flexible and more forgiving. unkoboy09-29-2012, 08:50 PMFiberglass is just that... Rigid fiberglass and will break.... I ended up going with aero ware and I don't regret it but I have broken 2 of them hitting stuff

Is the shine auto Frp hybrid all they advertise it to be? 91MR2Blitz01-09-2013, 02:15 PMDoes that site still carry the front lip, I looked but cant find it... Where else can I get it and how much are they roughly?

Thanks Butters01-09-2013, 04:38 PMMine has taken some pretty good licks and stayed intact. The times i destroyed them were hitting much larger objects (i.e racoon the size of my car)

Blitz they should still have it. their site isnt the greatest in the world. i have always had to order mine viea email or the phone from them. Ive bought two from them this way and it always arrives very fast. i highly recommend these guys. japSW2001-14-2013, 10:05 PMArent the Greddy lips urethane? I bought one on my last 2 a little over ten years ago and it was definitely urethane. That thing was indestructible

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c324/japsw20/507199_59_full.jpg trodo11102-03-2013, 03:13 PMJust to bump this... I have Greddy front lip with Toms side skirts and I only think it might be a problem because I just bought the BC Racing Xtreme Low kit for the 2 and I'm worried about clearance issues.23760 campos02-10-2013, 01:36 PMi have an authentic aeroware an authentic greddy.. shine auto project spec "a"(aeroware replica) and a vis racing front lip(kaminari replica).

can't go wrong with the aeroware or greddy... i have seen many greddy lips crack at the 90 degree angle(corners), thats a high impact area.

the aerow is at a +90 degree angle and handles the impact better.. they designed it with this in mind and it also afforded the use of lower offset wheels.

aeroware
kaminari
greddy

in that order is my liking from best to worst. i like the aeroware lip so much i made a replica of it :)

here's the link - http://mr2.zhutiblog.com/com/forums/mk-2-parts-fs/Toyota-MR2-83795-possible-aeroware-replica-front-lip-group-buy.html Tuner42902-10-2013, 02:23 PMI like the Aeroware more then the Greddy, i think it just flows better with the car. The only reason why i have one is because it came with the car and i am too broke & lazy to change it with the Aeroware. I do have to say that the Greddy has taken a beating from me daily driving my car and has not shown any signs of cracking etc.

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m17/TUNER_429/2012-12-24120332-1_zpsc0e00b17.jpg

Thats a pic of my car, lip needs a touch up as it has some rough spots all over it and the paint is chipped pretty bad as you can see in the pic on the lip. Other then that its extremely durable. mikesmoua10-01-2013, 01:06 PMThoughts on Autoshine? mr2sf03-10-2014, 11:30 PMTuner429, is your side skirt Toms? sw20addict03-13-2014, 04:00 PMmr2sf greddy side skirts

Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk mr2sf03-13-2014, 07:46 PMThanks sw20addict. What's the difference between the toms and greddy? I have seen pics of both and they look the same to me. Sorry about the newb questions. campos03-13-2014, 10:47 PMThoughts on Autoshine?
do you mean shine auto?

the make very good replicas..

their replica greddy side skirts fit better than the original greddys. greensander1112-01-2015, 09:06 AMI really like the greddy lip, my pal has one on his accord and it looks sick! If they had one in carbon fibre, I'd purchase it. greensander1112-14-2015, 09:02 PMCurrently I can't afford buying expensive spoilers. So I bought a universal lip kit instead from http://allfitautomotive.com/. The quality's way better than the old lip I had (ez lip). The outcome = Completely satisfied. ;) Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
