View Full Version : *Red or Panda?

ajkaos04-02-2010, 12:03 PMsoo my mr2 is stock red but kinda beat up and i want to paint it.. my freind is telling me to re do the factory red which is nice by i want to do black and white.. suggestions? ShackC04-05-2010, 05:48 PMDepends, are you restoring, or going aftermarket?
Black is a rough color, it gets hotter, easier to show scratches and dirtyness, harder to cover body flaws, but red wil get you more tickets but looks good, depends on you MK#, where black or white would be, what you do wit your deuce. Many, many more factors. fvillota04-05-2010, 05:50 PMyou mean like white body and black top? like a two tone thing?
i'd do it but i love red. ajkaos04-06-2010, 05:39 PMumm im thinking :
white body
black hood
black spoiler
black plastics
black door handles

as for red id like to restore but i might go aftermarket.. lestat1304-07-2010, 07:15 AMIf you're gonna go black and white, do the hood and spoiler black, maybe engine lid and trunk (upto you).... but imo definitely paint everything above the door black! mmarookiejoe04-07-2010, 12:59 PMumm im thinking :
white body
black hood
black spoiler
black plastics
black door handles

:wtf: Don't do it... petedynamics04-07-2010, 01:11 PMgo factory, all red, leave it original, deucethemoose04-07-2010, 01:23 PMRed doesn't get you tickets - driving like a douche gets you tickets.

OP - your panda scheme sounds a little tacky. If white is what you want I would suggest painting the car white, and paint the A pillars, roof, and C pillars black. The only other black should be the body trim.

Personally I say restore the red. ShackC04-07-2010, 02:02 PMNo the color red doesnt get you tickets, its just an easier color to spot and follow plus it will raise insurance costs. I guess there are less 2tone mr2s out there so they be easy to spot also. ajkaos04-07-2010, 04:54 PMyea ill probably go for factory red.. thx
i know the scheme sounds tacky but ive actually seen it and it looks pretty nice.. ShackC04-07-2010, 05:04 PMThat is a good choice. Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
