I DO NOT recommend using rattle-cans to paint exterior car parts. That being said, if you MUST do it, scuff the surface with 320 grit - wipe the part down with a tack cloth - wipe the part down with Duplicolor prep wipes - put on several THIN coats of primer/sealer - let the primer dry - lightly sand with 500 grit - wipe the part down with tack cloth - wipe the part down with the prep wipes - put on a few THIN coats of paint - let dry COMPLETELY - wet sand dry part with 1000 grit - clean part - buff/polish. TomsMR203-12-2010, 05:47 PMdont prime parts that are already painted. scuff and shoot, it'll last longer. scuff with 600 grit and just paint it.

if its raw fiberglass, scuff with 320 or 400 and spray with bulldog adhesion promotor, let dry, and paint. knightbird12303-12-2010, 07:08 PM.... Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
