MR2Board01-14-2010, 05:32 AMIMOC/MR2Board MARKETPLACE GUIDELINES

Placing Ads
Here are some guidelines to follow for posting in the Marketplace forums:
It is helpful if every is preceded by one of the following even if they are in the WTB section, etc:
FS: For sale
GI: Gauging Interest
WTB: Wanted To Buy
WTT: Wanted To Trade
FREE: Parts you are giving away

It is helpful to your fellow members if you can include a brief description of the item(s) you wish to buy, sell, or trade, possibly including location and price in the thread title.

Here are some examples of good titles.
FS: Gen III Intake Manifold - Atlanta, GA - $300
WTB: OEM Blue Seats - Philadelphia, PA

Here is an example of a not so good title:
Got some stuff here
for sale: car
jDeM El33t 4 U!

Stuff for sale!
The body of the post should include as much information as you can gather as well as detailed pictures, unless you are opting for a local buyer that can physically see the items for sale. The more information and pictures you have available, the better your chances will be of having a smooth transaction. If you don't have a digital camera, get one. It's the year 2006 already!

Browsing Ads
We live in a Free Market society, and thus, the Market will always dictate the price of an item. Any item is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. With that thought in mind, please be respectful with your comments regarding price. Sellers will likely find "lowball" offers offensive. Please use your best judgment. If you think a seller's price is too high, and you would like to make a respectable counter offer, please feel free to do so. You may also opt to make use of the free private message to accomplish this. If you have no interest in buying parts or cars being offered for sale here, there is no reason for you to comment on the price or item at all, and this will be strictly enforced. Please leave that to serious buyers and let the Free Market system work itself out.

Trader Ratings
In order for the Trader Ratings system to be effective, it must be used. Please enter feedback for any buyers or sellers you do business with, and generally limit it's use to transactions that took place on IMOC/MR2Board or MR2Trader. Please note that any abuse of the Trader Ratings system will strictly not be tolerated, including but not limited to ratings inflation and retaliatory ratings.

Ethics
Please conduct yourself ethically in all transactions and keep the lines of communication open throughout the process. If you are too busy to respond to emails, you are too busy to be selling here. If it is determined that you willfully misrepresented a product or service, or failed to deliver as promised, you could potentially be banned permanently from this site and MR2Trader.com.

Negative ITrader Ratings
Buy and sell at your own risk. The IMOC/MR2Board, nor its staff and representatives will not and cannot be held responsible for Buying/Selling/Trading on the IMOC/MR2Board or MR2Trader. Posting ads on either constitutes acceptance of these terms. That said, we strive to try and protect our members from being scammed by other members. With this in mind, we have invoked the following guidelines when problems between members conducting transactions occur.
- When a member receives negative feedback it will be investigated by the IMOC/MR2Board staff. If the member is determined to be at fault and if the staff deems it is necessary, that member's account will be restricted to only see the Feedback forum. If this happens, ALL private messages with be queued for moderator approval. We don't need banned sellers using the PM system to make deals and continue scamming other members. If you have a problem with this policy simply do not post anything for sale or conduct your transactions honestly.
- An infraction will be issued to the at fault party.
- If the member neglects or refuses to remedy the situation, the staff may at their discretion permanently ban the member.
- When a member receives a second negative feedback the situation will be reviewed by the staff and the member will very likely be permanently banned from the MR2.com and MR2Trader.com.

Here are a few points we would like to note:
- We take an extremely strict stance on conducting transactions honestly and ethically. It is not difficult to conduct transactions honestly and there are no excuses for not doing so.
- If the party that has been scammed by a member here wishes to press charges, we will assist their investigation to the fullest extent possible and will turn over all available information the proper authorities when requested to help in recovering their loss.
- The IMOC/MR2Board staff has the right to change policy without notification and may do so in special circumstances to help protect and inform our members of risks to them from time to time.

CONDUCTING TRANSACTIONS ON THE IMOC/MR2Board

Anyone conducting transactions on the MR2.com shall adhere to the strictest standards of professionalism while doing so. This is not very difficult to accomplish. Simply do what you say you are going to do and all will be well.

Sellers
Be honest in your dealings. Don't misrepresent a product you are selling. If it has a flaw, make sure you disclose it.
Ship products in a timely fashion. If you can't ship products in a timely fashion, don't accept any payments until you can.
If the shipping company damages the product, work with the shipper to get the buyer reimbursed. If it is damaged due to your negligence, refund the buyer immediately.
Keep the buyer informed with the status of orders. This saves everyone hassles throughout the process.

Buyers
Thoroughly investigate what you are buying. Ask questions, get pictures, etc. It is your money and ultimately your responsibility to know what you are buying. If you have any doubts, don't buy.
Ensure that you pay attention to the terms you are agreeing on. If you are unsure about something, have the seller clarify. This will help to avoid problems later on.
If you agree to a purchase, don't flake on the agreement. Make sure you are ready to buy before agreeing to do so.
Sometimes mistakes happen, so make a honest attempt at resolution with the seller respectfully before jumping to conclusions. A seller will be much more inclined to resolve an issue if someone is not acting like a jerk.

Feedback
Be sure to leave feedback for all transactions. It is the only method in place for identifying good and bad sellers.
Feedback alone should not be the only consideration when dealing with someone. It can be a good gauge, but not a hard and fast rule.
Note if someone only has feedback from things they have bought versus sales conducted. A good buyer isn't necessarily a good seller.
